Use conversions of time measurement to solve problems. Understand how different types of graphs can communicate information. Draw and identify lines and angles, and classify shapes by properties of their lines and angles. Determine the difference between perimeter and area and know when to apply them. Social Studies Read any map to find landforms, latitude/longitude lines, and regions of the United States. Read and discuss people, events, and customs that helped shape United States history and culture. Know and explain the different types of resources in each region and how they influence the economy. Understand the three different branches of government. Explain the role of a citizen in the United States including rights and responsibilities.
