31 Days in May Challenge
During the month of May, we are celebrating all those
who support the Academy with their gifts of time, talent,
treasure and prayer. In particular, we are honoring
Estelle Corry, a woman whose legacy and vision
continues to inspire and support our school and parish. As we
remember Estelle Corry, we invite you to join in our 31 Days of
May Challenge! Our goal is to raise $1000 a day during the
month of May. The Estelle Corry Trust will match all gifts, up to
$26,000 made by the end of the month. Will you accept the
challenge? Consider sponsoring a day in May with your family,
your classmates, or a local business. We can set aside a day to
honor your graduating class, celebrate an anniversary, or
remember a beloved teacher with your gift. Please contact Kathy
Denby at the school with any questions. Thank you for your
support and for helping to fulfill the vision of this great lady.
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders recently enjoyed a trip to our state
capitol. The students and chaperones were able to learn about why
Wisconsin's history is important through frontier, immigrant, and
industry exhibits at the Wisconsin State Historical Museum. They
also went on a guided tour of the State Capitol Building, Thank
you to all of the chaperones who came along for the trip and
everyone who supported this trip through candy bar sales and
donations!! Congratulations to Carrigan Bulin! Carrigan was
the “Principal for the Day” at the Elementary campus recently and
spent a day in the big chair fulfilling her administrative duties,
lunching with Mr. Cattani and finished up by declaring a “No
Homework” day for the students. She is well on her way to a
promising career!

Vocations
“The Good Life” John 10:1-10
As Christians we are thankful that God has given us the gift
of life. Our creation as human beings comes from the Creator
of all that is. But even beyond the gift of life, God gives us
meaning in our lives, God gives us a reason to live. This life
that we receive from God is “the good life.” When we become
a Christian, we gain a heavenly perspective but can still see
value in our earthly lives. Our existence means something:
we can pass along our worth to others. Also God gives us
“direction” for our lives and the freedom to blossom within
these guidelines. All that should be more than enough to spur
the non-believer towards faith!
Marygrove Retreat Center
A SIX-DAY DIRECTED retreat will be offered at Marygrove
Retreat Center June 4-9, 2017. A Directed Retreat is a
concentrated guided experience of God in prayer. It is based
on Sacred Scripture and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.
The retreat is designed for those who seek to listen and
respond to the Lord in an environment of solitude and silence.
Each participant meets daily with a spiritual director for
guidance and discernment. The fee for this retreat is $260 per
person. For more information or to register please call
906-644-2771.
Congratulations to Taylor
Johnson, Jonah Dziekonski, Emily
Petersen, Kallan Wilde, and
Irianely Sanchez who received the
Sacrament of Confirmation last
Sunday at St. Peter Cathedral in
Marquette. Please keep the newly
confirmed in your prayers that
they may be filled more deeply
with the Holy Spirit.

....if we really believe that abortion is an intimate act of
violence - and of course, it is - then we can't aim at anything
less than ending abortion. It doesn't matter that some
abortions have always occurred, or that some will always
occur. If we really believe that abortion kills a developing,
unborn human life, then we can never be satisfied with mere
'reductions' in the body count. - Archbishop Charles Chaput
