WELCOME MESSAGE
On behalf of the International Association of Surgeons Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO),
we are delighted to invite you to join us at the Annual Meeting of IASGO Egyptian Chapter in
collaboration with the Egyptian Society of Surgeons and the Egyptian Group of Hepatopancreatobiliary
Surgery, which will take place on May 11-12, 2017 in Cairo, Egypt.
IASGO was originally founded in Amsterdam 30 years ago as a unique multidisciplinary and
interdisciplinary society in order to pursuit the mission of the globalization of medical knowledge.
Surgeons, gastroenterologists, and oncologists are encouraged to join forces with all the partners
worldwide in order to realize the mission of IASGO.
We believe that up-to-date medical practice and expertise could and should benefit all communities
worldwide, and that they have to be available beyond any kind of discrimination – based on
individual, institutional or national levels – to every patient suffering from challenging and
life-threatening diseases. IASGO’s leadership strives to implement this vision through a well-structured
educational program with a global reach, which is teaching and promoting multi-disciplinary,
collaborative approaches for treatment of intractable diseases.
Professor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, President of the Conference, the Local Organizing Committee
of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons and the Egyptian Group of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery,
and the IASGO Executives have joined efforts to develop an outstanding multidisciplinary scientific
program. The program includes international experts as well as promising young fellows from the
region. This will allow for networking and cross-fertilization among experts at various stages of their
careers and diverse interests to promote further collaborative projects at an international level.
Last but not least, the social program of Annual Meeting of IASGO Egyptian Chapter will be unique.
Cairo is a megacity with many historic monuments and known as the “Mother of the World”.
There will be many opportunities to enjoy sightseeing the beautiful city and meeting friendly people.
Please come enjoy the unique culture of Cairo as well as the scientific program at the Annual
Meeting of IASGO Egyptian Chapter!

WELCOME MESSAGE
For the first time, we are pleased to announce the inauguration of the Egyptian Chapter of
the of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists & Oncologists (IASGO).
In this occasion we are glad to invite you to its annual meeting in collaboration with
“The Egyptian Society of Surgeons (ESS) &“Egyptian Group of Hepato-Pancreato Biliary
Surgery” (EGHPBS). This meeting shall be held on May 11th-12th, 2017 at Intercontinental
Semiramis, Cairo, Egypt.
IASGO was founded in Amsterdam in 1988. Today, it has strong sections in more than 70
countries, which greatly assists in assessing educational needs. The main goal of this organization
has been and remains globalization of medical knowledge and expertise through a well-structured
and precisely organized system of continued medical education.
As the main goal for (IASGO) is to bring together experts in different areas of medicine, this year’s
meeting shall be a great chance to emphasize and highlight the latest technological innovations
and scientific advances in the fields of gastroenterology, medical oncology, hepato-Biliary and
pancreatic surgery. This shall be presented within the framework of symposia, panels, video sessions,
scientific lectures, debates, plenary lectures, and interactive sessions.
This kind of blend will offer opportunities for unique professional interactions and cross-fertilization
and will allow the exchange of knowledge and experiences between surgeons, which will give
them the opportunity to stay on top of all of the latest research findings and most useful clinical pearls.
We are sure that the variety and depth of topics covered will provide attendees with maximum
