AutoCorrect
Offers the option of creating a list of words to expand the Office AutoCorrect.
It gives you options for defining fixed spellings for terms which will then be automatically corrected
while typing. For a better overview, you can create groups for various topics.

DIVIDE THE CONTENTS OF YOUR PUBLICATION INTO AS MANY „STORIES” AS DESIRED, IN ORDER TO
WORK ON THE DOCUMENT AT THE SAME TIME. THE STORIES ARE SHOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY IN THE
MASTER FILE, AND CAN BE EDITED THERE.
Short description
linkdocuments allows you to work bidirectionally with a master file with different employees at the
same time.




Update: Update one or all stories with just one click. The current status of the stories is hereby
transferred to the master. The Content Manager provides you with an overview of the currentness and status of all linked graphics.
Save back: You can also transfer changes from the master to the stories. The „exclusive mode”
supports you with this, and ensures that no one else is working in the stories while you are
transferring changes in the master.
Multiple usage: You can use the same stories in multiple publications.
This means that the content must only be updated once.
Reduced mode: Open the reduced mode with one click on the
symbol. This mode allows
you to individually select the functionalities of the Content Manager while continuing working on
your report.
The Content Manager and Content Assistant
Here you can manage all stories, which are linked to the master. In the menu list you can issue authorizations (requires toolsrights) for individual stories and access other content manager functions.

THIS MAY BE IMAGES FROM GRAPHICS PROGRAMS OR OBJECTS DYNAMICALLY LINKED WITH
EXCEL OR POWERPOINT.
Short description
linkgraphics offers the possibility of inserting, updating and managing graphics from various
sources in your report.




Different data formats can be imported:
Graphic files such as BMP, EMF, EPS, GIF, JPEG, PNG or TIF, graphics directly from
PowerPoint or Excel.
Hide: Replaces the graphic with a placeholder. Use this function to hide graphics that are not
yet intended for publication – and show them with just one click.
Graphic export: You can save linked graphic objects from your Word document in different
graphic formats (EMF, JPG, PNG), for example for easy transfer to the Internet.
think-cell: All graphics from think-cell can be inserted and updated.
The Graphics Manager
The Graphics Manager gives you an overview of all linked graphics. Double click to easily navigate
to the graphic in the report. Alongside the status of all linked graphics, here you will also find additional useful information such as the file type, and see whether the graphic is currently hidden.

LINKPRESENTATION IS AN ADD-IN FOR POWERPOINT WITH WHICH YOU CAN INSERT AND UPDATE
EXCEL TABLES AND GRAPHICS, IN THE SAME WAY YOU ARE USED TO WORKING WITH LINKTABLES
AND LINKGRAPHICS IN WORD.
Short description
linktables for PowerPoint
Use linkpresentation to import Excel data into PowerPoint. This allows you, for example, to edit
tables for your analyst presentation as usual in Excel, and insert the table into PowerPoint with
linkpresentation. All linktables functions are available.


Update: Checks and updates one or all selected Excel objects in the Word file.
Open source: Opens the Excel source of the selected objects and highlights the area to
be imported.
linkgraphics for PowerPoint
Graphics can also be inserted and managed in PowerPoint with linkpresentation. This means that
you do not have to carefully copy or redo graphics, which you have already created in other publications. Just like in Word, you can import and update graphics from a range of source files.




linksmartnotes ensures smooth communication between firesys and the SmartNotes software.
SmartNotes, by our partner AMANA, is a product with comprehensive workflow management
which can import and manage data from different source systems.




Interface: Links diverse firesys modules with SmartNotes
Design: Creates correct table layout in the company’s corporate design
Data: Enables the inserting, updating and managing of graphics from the SmartNotes system
Multiple languages: Creates the basis for exchanging multiple languages between the
two systems
Communication
With linksmartnotes, a communication interface between firesys and SmartNotes is created. It can
be used to exchange information and actions between the two systems. This way, a table with
completed formatting from SmartNotes can be inserted in a Word document according to the
company’s corporate design.

Short description
linktables for tables provides accurate and automatic transfer of your tables from Excel to Word.





Update: Checks and updates one or all selected Excel objects in the Word file.
Transfer format from Excel: Tables are formatted in Word to match the Excel style guide.
Rows are automatically inserted or deleted. (layouttables required)
Open source: Opens the Excel source of the selected objects and highlights the area to
be imported.
Highlighting: linktables can highlight the data that you have inserted from Excel into Word so
that you are always kept informed of the update status. Problems and changed values are
highlighted separately.
Conditional formatting: Transfers the color scale of the conditional formatting (e.g.: different
background colors depending on the value) from an Excel pattern to Word.
Excel Data Manager
This „control center” gives you an overview of the status of your publication and allows you to see,
for example, which data is not yet up to date. If there is a problem with an object you will see
more detailed information here, along with a suggested solution.

Filter: Here you can filter your entries, for example you could filter „not up to date”
Excel objects.

WITH LINKTEXT YOU CAN IMPORT AND UPDATE DATA FROM EXCEL TO WORD. WHETHER YOU’RE IMPORTING INDIVIDUAL FIGURES OR WHOLE TEXTS INTO THE BODY TEXT – YOUR DATA IS ALWAYS CORRECT AND UP TO DATE.
Short description
linktext allows you to import data from individual Excel cells in your tables into the body text of
your Word document. This allows you to use the same database for the tables and figures in the
body text, and update the data at the push of a button.





Uniform database for text and tables: Insert your figures into the text directly from the
table. This ensures that when a table is changed, the figures in the text can also be updated
and are correct.
Absolute values: Insert data into the body text as an absolute value, even when the figure
from the Excel database is a negative number. (languagenumbers required)
Highlighting: Highlight data in the body text to determine which data comes from Excel and
which data was directly inputted into your document.
Permanent markups: Data within the text can be given a permanent markup, so that it
cannot be accidentally overwritten.
Further occurrences: If you update a table in your report, you will automatically receive a
warning if figures, which are not up to date, were inserted into the body text from the table.
Clicking on the „Show” button displays the not up to date occurrences, filtered in the
Excel Data Manager.

TRANSLATE YOUR TABLES (WITH LANGUAGEWORDS) AT THE PUSH OF A BUTTON AND, AT THE SAME
TIME, THE NUMBERS ARE FORMATTED IN THE APPROPRIATE FORMAT THAT WAS PREDEFINED FOR THE
TARGET LANGUAGE.
Short description
languagenumbers allows you to adjust your number format to the chosen language. Using
languageword, you can even change the language of the table at the push of a button.



Data source: You can work in the same data source. languagenumbers does not require any
separate files.
Number format: You can select up to five languages individually:
 between a point and a comma for the decimal symbol and thousand-separator;
 between different options for displaying negative figures.
Language selection: Changing and selecting the language can only be done in Word.
Prepare for translation
To make your document available to the translator, certain language-specific adjustments must be
removed from the document (e.g. reduced spacing, reduced non-breaking spaces etc.). This automated process involves...



Resetting manual text formatting that is not required for the translation or could obstruct the
work with a translation memory (non-breaking spaces, character formatting, highlights,
reduced spacing).
Data in text and tables are „protected” so that they cannot be overwritten during
the translation.
All the changes are accepted; which means that the highlighted changes are deleted in the
export file.

Short description
Translate tables with just one click
languagewords automatically connects all occurrences of a text („hits”) in the tables in your Excel
file to their sources in the dictionary. This means that a text only has to be translated once, all other occurrences are covered. If a text is correctly translated once, the translation will be correct
every time it occurs.
The translation manager makes up the heart of languagewords. It contains texts and their translations (up to five languages), which are listed next to each other and can be updated. You can
change the table language at any time and transfer it to your Word document.
The advantage: The figures are only changed once; the text is automatically adjusted.
Language management in large teams
Terms and their translations are managed and updated with a master dictionary. This master resource can be accessed by any number of individual Excel files. A sophisticated workflow ensures
that new terms can be recommended and made available in all sub-dictionaries after being reviewed and translated.

You can provide your translator with the dictionary which contains all the terms from your tables
but not the numbers. While the translator is working, you can continue to work with your Excel
file and import the translation later.

toolsfinalise offers a range of useful functions for the professional design of your report.
Coupler
Use the coupler function to join certain terms together so that they are never separated with line
breaks. You can also set words that should never be separated.


Do not separate terms: Set the rules according to which non-breaking spaces between specific terms (text or numbers) should be inserted.
Remove hyphenation on words: Determine which words should not be hyphenated (e.g.
product or company names).
Baseline grid
The baseline grid helps you to align the lines in your
document to an exact height, even if you have multiple columns and even if the text, tables or graphs
have different line spacings. The lines are aligned
to the bottom of a (hidden) grid, the so-called
baseline grid:
Layout Check
An incorrect font size, a slight difference in the background
shading of a table or an incorrect line boldness: The „Layout
Check” function checks the design and layout of your files in
an instant for any formal errors. It also assists you in
correcting errors.
The layout check also checks your text for formal mistakes,
such as double spaces, punctuation and quotation marks and
checks the auto correct entries.

SEE AND EDIT WHICH DOCUMENTS. THE VERSION MANAGER ALLOWS YOU TO RESTORE PREVIOUS
VERSIONS AT ANY TIME.
Short description
toolsrights supplements firesys with database authorizations and versioning.



Roles and access: toolsrights allows you to limit users’ access to firesys functions. Three roles
are available: Author, editor and administrator.
Authorization: In combination with linkdocuments, access to stories can be restricted as follows: Full access, read only, no access.
Versioning: You can create versions yourself, or allow toolsrights to version automatically with
certain actions. Versioning does not only apply to your current Word document but also to relevant external data sources from Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Versions can be provided with a
status (draft, pending, approved) and a comment. The Version Manager provides information on
who has changed and entered which contents and when; you can also restore older versions,
when required.
Compare documents: Based on the standard Word
function, you can compare the currently open document
with a previous version. You are automatically offered
a list of previous versions of the document, created
with toolsrights.

Short description
StatusCockpit
The StatusCockpit provides you with an overview of your Excel file. Both sheets and areas are presented here in a clear overview and can be accessed directly. The status that you can give to individual sheets via navigator is also shown here. Sheets that are given the status of „approved” and
thereby authorized and final, are protected against editing.
Validation and consistency
Using the validation sheet, you can compare „number pairs” with one another and thereby review
them for validation and consistency. The number pairs are listed clearly on the validation sheet,
deviations are also shown.
Cross-file validation:
When working with central values, cells from Excel are transferred to the MeetingPoint.
You can carry out cross-file validation with the help of these cells. The information is automatically
updated, as soon as the figures have been uploaded to the MeetingPoint for the first time. Figures
can also be stored directly in the MeetingPoint. This allows uniform figures to be ensured across
the company.

TOOLSWEB ENABLES YOU TO AUTOMATICALLY CREATE AN HTML DOCUMENT OF YOUR FINANCIAL REPORT WITH JUST ONE CLICK. ALL TABLES CAN BE EXPORTED AS ONE FILE OR AS INDIVIDUAL FILES.

HTML version
The entire report is converted into a HTML document with just one click. Every section is enclosed
by so-called tags. These are of great use for the further processing by the web agency. In addition,
download links can be created automatically above the tables.
Table export
Table export saves all tables included in your word document as an Excel file. You decide whether
they are saved in one file or in individual files. Of course footnotes can also be transferred. You
even have the option of automatically generating titles above your tables in Excel.
Graphics
With this option, all graphics included in the report are exported as graphic files.
The graphics can then also be used in the online report.

Automation: Once set as a template, layoutgraphics offers a broad range of automation possibilities. This ensures that every diagram matches your company’s style guide. As you are familiar
with in Excel, you can automatically fill cells and automatically create graphics.
Flexibility: Adaptations can be easily made by the user, and can thereby be re-used.
Complexity: layoutgraphics can be used to create far more complex diagrams than are possible with the standard Excel functions. This increases user friendliness.
Language: You can change the language of the graphic with just one click. Both the text and

Short description
layouttables allows you to format tables in line with your layout specifications, or to adjust
existing tables.


Table assistant: Your personal assistant to create new, blank tables and to change existing
tables to suit the defined layout.
Formatting functions: Besides the table assistant, the „Tables” menu also offers numerous
possibilities for designing individual rows, which have been specially tailored to your publication’s layout. This includes, for example, different row types, highlighting for the current
financial year, lines and background colors.
