4-H Craft Contest & Yeast Bread Contest
4-H will be holding a 4-H Craft Contest and Yeast Bread Contest Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at FrinkChambers School at 1:00 pm. See attached fliers for rules and regulations.
4-H Leader’s Meeting & Food Science & Nutrition Poster Contest
The 4-H Leader’s Meeting will be held Tuesday, April 5th at 4:00 pm at the OSU Extension Office. Food &
Nutrition Poster’s will be due at this time. See attached flyer for rules and regulations.
4-H Impressive Dress
Our 2nd 4-H Impressive Dress Contest will be held April 21st at Frink-Chambers from 4-8 pm. Pre-entry is due
to the OSU Extension Office April 15th by 5:00 pm. Categories include Active Sportswear, Casual Wear, Dress
Wear, Formal Wear, and Western Wear. Learn coordination, proper fit, and clothing combinations. Stay up-todate on styles and proper attire for various occasions.
Photography Contest Results
The Pittsburg County 4-H Photography Contest is based off categories from Section 302 of the Pittsburg
County Fair Book. One purpose of this contest is to help increase entries for the Photography division of the
County Fair. Entries in this contest may be entered in the 2016 County Fair. Results for this contest were as
follows: Junior (ages 9-13)-Grand Champion-Jenna Gaberino, Parker; Reserve Grand Champion-Staughty
Chapmon, Carlton Landing 4-H; Senior (ages 14+)-Grand Champion-Ford Humphreys, Carlton Landing 4-H;
Reserve Grand Champion-Bryce Wilson, Crowder. We had a record number of entries with 84 entries for this
contest.

Essay Contest Results
Our 4-H Essay Contest results are in. We had a record setting turnout with 169 entries from 12 different
clubs. Our grand champion entries were as follows: Clover-bud (ages 5-8)-Natalie Hollingshead, Crowder;
Junior (ages 9-13)-Allison Shropshire, Crowder; and Senior (ages 14+)-Maggie Armstrong, Kiowa. Cloverbuds topic was “What do you like about 4-H?” The junior topic was “Who is your 4-H role model?” The
senior division topic was “How can 4-H benefit your life?”
