Preamble :
Diesel distributed the long-awaited and much anticipated Social Calendar and was initially
unfazed when it was pointed out that The Committee had lost patience with him and had
mapped out a series of events at a Committee Meeting two weeks ago.
The first Dummy Spit of the evening soon followed, however, when it was pointed out that
the Meeting had been scheduled well ahead of time, that he was invited but failed to attend
because “I’ve got a lot on”. He was also advised that the Committee’s ruminations were
reflected in the Minutes of said Meeting sent to him and others via Email the day after and
subsequently published in the last two Newsletters. All of which he failed to read.
“Give it back then and I’ll resign”. The Guinness Book of Records reckon that it‘s the
shortest Career in Journalism they’ve heard of …….scarcely two minutes elapsed between
the production of his first body of work and resignation.
Incidently, if you’re interested in attending either the Lunch on 24 March or the Cervantes
Weekend of 7,8,9 April mentioned in the Calendar, get in quick as spots are filling fast unlike
those for the Lunch on 6 October. There’s heaps of vacancies for that one as most of those
who normally go will be at the Kulin Bush Races.
The Hare let it be known that he had faith in the RA but had set a short course just in case
and had kept us close to Home throughout the Run in the event that the RA let him down
and we had to get out of the weather. A Drink Stop was promised.
The Run :
The Run proved to be uneventful, the rain held off and everyone made the Drink Stop.
Blank claimed to do the whole Run but surprisingly failed to call any Falsies or Checks ???
The Rundown:
RooTed thought that the RA did a fine job and that the Hare had set a good run. 7 was the
score. Woolies simply scored it 7.5. Bloo said that it was well set with a few falsies. 7.The
GM lamented the fact of no new territory but came up with 7.1.
Prick of the Week :
RooTed was firmly in the VM’s sight as he’d given him a Tit Squeeze during the Run.
Blank took the opportunity to announce that he would be absent for 4-5 weeks a fact that
dismayed the group.
Charges :
The RA gave Elvis a drink for I know not what. Something about “Don’t Forget”
Bloo had a go at Splash for the fact that there was no GB on ice. Alias dodged a bullet as
Pyro had been heard to say “I’m Splash”
The GM called Diesel to account for his failure to attend the Committee Meeting, failing to
read the Minutes of said Meeting and failing to read the last two Newsletters.
The VM attempted to charge the RA for acting as Pied Piper but the GM stepped in and
reversed it.
The GM then charged Bloo with insubordination for his antics at the Drink Stop.
General Business :
Remember Friday’s Lunch at Fibber McGees. Stringline will be there.
