INTERNATIONAL MENTORS
Anand Agarwal
Hello! I am from India, and I have come to CU Boulder for education and fruitful experience. I chose to be a
mentor because I don't want the incoming freshman to struggle and be nervous of college. I also like to
make new friends and that is one of the reasons why I chose to be a mentor. I love playing soccer, golf,
and I also like to go on a walk and just hangout. Choose me as your mentor, it's going to be amazing (lit)!
Dana Colomina
My name is Dana Colomina and I am a sophomore here at Leeds studying Personal Finance! I love to
snowboard, hike, spend time with my friends and family, eat, travel, and lots more! I love to talk and help
others so I can't wait to be a Peer Mentor.
Khushali Dave
Hello! My name is Khushali and I am a junior majoring in Finance and Information Management. I love
getting involved around campus, be it through academic or social activities, and would love to help my
mentee become familiarized with resources in college as well. A couple of the programs I am currently
involved in include the Leeds Scholars Program, Leeds Ambassadors, and Diverse Scholars Program. In
my free time, I enjoy pursuing my hobbies of dancing and writing, as well as watching movies, shopping,
and meeting new people!! :)
Katharine Grubbe
Hi! My name is Katharine and I’m a sophomore majoring in marketing. I’m from Chicago, but I am so happy
I decided to come out west to the best school in the world! I love to hike, ski, go to concerts, and try new
restaurants around Boulder. Freshman year I was in the Leeds Rap and absolutely loved it. I'm involved in
the Young Alumni Mentorship Program, Music Industry Club, Yoga Club, and I am a volunteer for service
learning. I’m so excited to meet you and can’t wait to help you through your first year at CU!
Ane Johnsen
I am an undergraduate student here at CU Boulder. I will be a senior this Fall in the Leeds School of
Business with an emphasis in talent and operation management. I came to CU, from Norway, due to the
amazing opportunity of joining the Ski Team. I love being a part of a team and have something other than
school to drive and motivate me. I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing and pretty much every outside activity.
Yi Chen “Claire” Lin
Hello, Baby Buffs! My name is Yi Chen but I usually go by Claire. I will be a senior studying accounting at
Leeds and a minor in economics. I will be completing the 5 year MS/BS accounting program and obtaining
a CPA. I am involved with the P2P program as an executive member, the Navigators, and career fair
volunteering program. I am currently working as an accounting assistant.
I was born in Taiwan and have lived in China, US, and Taiwan. I have a passion for traveling and have
traveled to over 9 countries. Out of class, I love cooking (and eating), Korean drama, fashion, and
hiking/camping with my dog.
I can't wait to meet you and help you to start this journey at Leeds!
Nathan Mpiana
Nathan Mpiana is a current sophomore at Leeds double majoring in Accounting and Finance with a minor
in economics and a certificate in quantitative Finance. Also, he is a current Teaching Assistant in Data
Analysis in Business. Additionally, I am an international student completing my four year degree at CU, and
I am Bilingual in English and French.
Tu Nguyen
I'm an Accounting major in the Leeds School of Business. Originally came from Vietnam, but I have been
living in the US for 6 years. My interests include enjoying good food, reading, and playing with my dog who
sometimes bites me as a way of professing her undying love for me. I also love learning about cultures
around the world, so if you have something to share, I'd love to hear about it!
Frigyes Racz
My name is Fritzy, and I am an international student from Hungary. I'm majoring in Management, Finance
and Film studies. I am a huge cinema addict, I lie sometimes, and I love biscuits.
Isabel Reidner
My name is Isabel. I’m a senior studying accounting and in the 5 year concurrent program working; on
a MSBA at the same time as my BS. I work for the university as an accounting assistant and work as a TA
for the advanced financial accounting course. I grew up in Germany, Uganda, and Colorado Springs, but
now my home is here in beautiful Boulder. I love academics, but aside from my classes, I also enjoy the
outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with my friends.
Wenting Shu
I am an international student from China，I am majoring in Accounting and Finance and I enrolled in the
Concurrent BSBA/MS Degree Program, I sincerely hoping that I can provide some help for the incoming
freshman to adopt their college life.
Shanshan Xu
I'm an international student from China. In Fall 2017, it will be my junior year, and my area of emphasis is
Finance. I'm a hardworking and optimistic person, which makes me can be more successful in both
academic study and life . Also, I have strong ability to learn and adapt a new environment that helps me to
be comfortable in university as a non-native speaker. As an international student, I know what problems do
international students or freshman might have, so I'm confident that I can help them with my own
experience.
Huaiqian Yan
HI, this is Huaiqian Yan. I grew up in China and I'm majoring in Finance. In my free time, I like studying,
listening to music, cooking and bodybuilding. I have been Boulder since the summer in 2015, so I got a lot
of different experiences from many aspects, which might benefit you, especially for an international
student.
Xin Yuan
Hi! My name is Xin. I am an international student from Henan province, China. I am going to be a senior
and am majoring in Finance and Accounting at Leeds school. In my freshmen year, I was a part of the
Leeds RAP program and the CU American Marketing Association. I worked at Darley Dining Hall in
Williams Village when I was sophomore. I will be participating the London Finance Seminar this summer
2017.
