Coaching Staff
VICTOR SOLIS
HEAD COACH
Victor Solis became the head coach at Paradise Valley Community
College, and helped start the program, in 2008. He was born in
Douglas, AZ. Upon graduating from Brophy College Preparatory,
Victor attended Glendale Community College and was a member of
the baseball program. After completing two years at GCC, Victor
attended Grand Canyon University where the Antelopes competed in
the National Championships during his senior year. After four years of
coaching baseball at Brophy College Preparatory and GCC, he
attended Oklahoma City University where he served as an assistant coach and graduated
with his MBA.
Victor has coached for over 15 years including five years at the University of Arizona and two
years at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Victor brought his experience of
starting the baseball program at GateWay Community College to Paradise Valley
Community College in 2008. During this time, he was honored as being named the head
coach for the USA Junior National Team (18 and under) in the summer of 2007. The USA
Junior National Team competed in the Pan American Games in Ixtapa, Mexico winning the
Bronze medal, thus qualifying the team for the World Championships in the summer of 2008.
Victor currently resides in Phoenix with his wife, Alice, and son, Alejandro.
WILL ABRAM
ASSISTANT COACH
Will Abram has joined the Puma Baseball coaching staff for the 2016-2017 season. Abram, a
Puma Baseball alum, pitched for PVCC 2010-2013.
While a student-athlete at PVCC, Abram garnered All-Region and All-Conference honors in
2012. He was also named an NJCAA Player of the Week in the same season.
Abram transferred to Gonzaga University where he continued his playing career and
received his Bachelor’s degree
ALEX ADRIAN
ASSISTANT COACH
Alex Adrian joined the Puma Baseball program in 2015. Alex was born
and raised in Somonauk, IL where he attended Somonauk High School.
Alex moved to AZ in 2006 to attend Arizona State University where he was
a double major in English Literature and Education.
Since graduating from ASU, Alex has been both a baseball coach and
high school teacher. In 2010, he began his career as an educator with
the Scottsdale Unified School District where he teaches English. Alex also
coached at the varsity level for Chaparral High School. He was an assistant coach for the
Firebirds 2011-2014.
DAVE BRENNAN
ASSISTANT COACH
Dave Brennan joined the staff at PVCC in 2013 as the Pitching coach.
Prior to coming to PV, Dave was the pitching coach at Chaparral High
School (2007-2012). Chaparral won three State Championships during
that time. He was also the pitching coach for Pinnacle High School
(2000-2006) and a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech University (19891990).
Dave is an Arizona native. He attended Coronado High School where he was an AllState/All-Arizona baseball player. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management
from Louisiana Tech University in 1989. While playing baseball at Louisiana, Brennan was 1st
Team All-Conference (American South Conf.) and All-Tournament honoree. He was also the
ASC Batting Champion in 1988. Dave and his wife Penny have two children. Brooks (19)
plays baseball at Occidental College and Bailey (16) plays softball for Pinnacle High School.
He and his wife have owned Brennan’s Sports Grill in Phoenix for 19 years.
PAT KELLEHER
ASSISTANT COACH
Pat Kelleher joins the Puma coaching staff for the 2016-2017 season.
Kelleher played High School Baseball in Boston before moving to Arizona to play at
Chaparral High School, where he was a 1st Team All-State selection. During his senior year
Kelleher was ranked the #1 high school centerfield prospect in the nation by Baseball
America.
Kelleher was drafted by the Dodgers in 1997 and played professionally for both the Los
Angeles Dodgers and the Anaheim Angels.
Since retiring from professional baseball, Kelleher he has been heavily involved with youth
baseball. He has been the hitting coach at Chaparral High School, Marcos De Niza High
School, and is currently the hitting coach at Corona Del Sol High School. Kelleher is also
involved at Arizona World of Baseball.
KIRK KITTLE
ASSISTANT COACH
Kirt Kittle joined the Pumas in 2015 as the catcher’s coach. Kirt is an
Arizona native and attended Moon Valley High School. After high
school, he went on to play baseball for head coach Victor Solis at
GateWay Community College as a catcher. After his stint playing for
the Geckos, Kirt spent two years as an assistant coach for his alma mater
GateWay while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in education at Arizona
State University. He is currently in his fifth year as a 7th grade math teacher at Mountain View
Elementary in Phoenix. In addition to coaching at Paradise Valley, Kirt also coaches a 14
and under team for the Athletics baseball organization.
LEE TINSLEY
ASSISTANT COACH
Lee Tinsely joins the staff at PVCC for the 2016-2017 season as the Pumas hitting, outfield, and
base running coach. Tinsley comes to the Pumas after a long career in Major League
Baseball.
Tinsely graduated from Shelby County High school in Shelbyville, KY where as a senior, he was
named the Gatorade National Player of the Year (.569, 16hr, 66ab). The former outfielder was
selected by the Oakland A's with the 11th overall pick in the June 1987 free-agent draft. After
spending years in the minor leagues with Oakland, Cleveland and Seattle, Tinsley made his
Major League debut on April 6, 1993 for the Seattle Mariners in a game against the Toronto
Blue Jays. Tinsley spent the next five season playing for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia
Phillies, and back to the Seattle Mariners. Tinsley played his last Major League game for the
Mariners during the 1997 season.
Tinsley began his coaching career in 2001 as hitting coach at Class AA El Paso. The next
season, he joined the Anaheim Angels as a roving outfield instructor, then from 2003-2005
held that same position with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tinsley then became the first base
coach for the Diamondbacks (2006-2008), followed by a stint with the Seattle Mariners (20092010) where he held the same position. After Seattle, Tinsley spent three years as the
Chicago Cubs’ minor league outfield/base running coordinator, and two seasons as the
Cincinnati Reds’ assistant hitting coach.
Tinsley currently lives in Phoenix with his wife Susan and their three children, Kobie, Ethan, and
Nia.
