Niche of the Madonna of Fatima
Property Description
Niche of the Madonna of Fatima, showing the Madonna with hands held together in
prayer and gazing up to the sky. The figure is also holding a rosary. She is standing
on a pedestal shaped like a rock, which is also decorated with flowers. The niche has
been rendered in Gothic style, the interior being a lancet arch, which is framed by an
ogee arch. On the pinnacle is a cross resting on an orb. The moulded sill has two
cantilevers, one on each extremity. Below the sill is a metal lamp, below which is a
cartouche with an inscription in Italian reminding of a 100-day indulgence granted
by Mons Pietro Pace on 21 January 1913.
