Community Refugee Committee of St Albert Bike a Thon

Community Refugoe
Connì¡ttse ol St. Albert
Dear Families,
The Community Refugee Committee of St. Albert (CRCSA) was formed in20l6
with the goal of sponsoring a refugee individual or family/families to come to
Canada. The CRCSA is a partnership between members of the community,
members of the St. Albert Host Lions Club and members of the St. Albert United
Church.
Bringing refugees to Canada is a costly affair. The CRCSA must commit to
raising $40,000 and cannot apply to the Government of Canada to sponsor a
refugee family until it has raised a least half of that amount.
The CRCSA has been busy and we are fast approaching that target.
This is an opportunity for your family to be involved in this project to help
improve someone's lot in life; someone who is not as comfortable as most of us
are; whose very life is at stake because of famine, poverty or war.
Do not worry that you have the ability to do this, as the famous anthropologist
Margaret Mead said,ooNever doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed
citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever hos."
What specifically can you do? Take part in our Family Fun-Raiser Bike-a-thon on
Saturday May 6th. Come as a family and bike two, five or ten kilometres.
The bike-a-thon begins at 9:00 am on the Landrex site next to Coal Mine Road,
adjacent to St. Albert Trail Northbound in St. Albert.
The route map on the back of the sponsor form shows the exact location.
Our bike-a-thon will conclude with a complimentary hot dog lunch.
Use the pledge form provided to sign up family and friends.
Bring your pledge cards and all pledge funds to the Registration Table.
Do as much as you can but please come out and support this worthwhile project.
Together we can make a differenoe.
