JAYPRO SPORTS
OUTDOOR VOLLEYBALL SYSTEM, VB-1
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations! You have purchased one of the most rugged recreational
volleyball units made in the United States. We at Jaypro want you to enjoy many years
of play from this unit and we ask that you sit down and read these important instructions
before you try and set up. Jaypro, a leader in volleyball equipment, has attempted to
make your set-up time short and as simple as possible, so if you’ll follow these
instructions you’ll be ready for play in a short time.
1) Remove yellow boundary marker and stakes from the bag and put aside for now.
(Small diameter cord and 4 rubber tension bands).
2) Remove uprights and large diameter cord with gray handles and stakes.
3) Open net bag, lay net on ground and unroll to full length.
4) Position upright at end of net. Remove black rubber caps. Find center of large
diameter cord; make loop and insert in large hole at top of upright, pulling loop 2
to 3 inches out of upright. Now pass net top binding cord thru opposite hole and
tie net line to yellow line by passing net line around yellow cord and tie securely.
Push knot back into upright and replace rubber cap. (This operation is one time
only).
5) Position net and poles in the desired location on ground.
6) Take one stake with gray handle and drive in ground at 45 degrees and back about
8’ from base of upright. Stand upright in vertical position and drive 2nd stake in
opposite direction of 1st stake. (Easier if two people install, as one can hold up
first upright while the second person sets up second pole).
7) Once unit is in vertical position, pull gray handles until tension on net is
satisfactory.
8) Fine tune with side tie off cords.
USE SUGGESTIONS
If you’re on the beach, drive backstay stakes below surface of sand. You might
need some support under upright (cardboard, plywood, shoe, etc.) so upright doesn’t
sink into the sand.
When taking down the unit, lay uprights on ground in closed position, pick up one
pole and walk to other pole and lay alongside. Lay backstays and stakes in net and
roll uprights in net. This will eliminate tangling of net on next setup.

VOLLEYBALL BOUNDARY LINE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Jaypro is pleased that you have purchased its Volleyball Boundary Line Kit. It
will assist in playing a regulation volleyball game either at the recreational or competitive
level. Before you remove the contents of the bag, be sure you have completely read and
understand the instructions.
A volleyball court is 30’ wide by 60’ long, which is 180’ around its perimeter (see
diagram below):
After your net and court are set up, you need to assemble (one time only) the
boundary line. You should have received 1 hank of yellow line, 4 stakes, 8 s-hooks, and
4 elastic tensioning bands.
1) Unroll yellow line and layout in smooth coil.
2) Using a ruler, measure 31’-6” and tie double overhand knot in line to form a loop.
Be certain that the knot is pulled tight.
3) From the first loop measure 61’-6” and tie second loop.
4) From the second loop measure 31’-6” and tie third loop.
5) From the third loop measure 61’-6” (this should be approximately the end of the
line). Join the two loose ends together with knot and form fourth and final loop.
6) In each of the loops, place s-hook and squeeze closed with pliers or vise grip
around loop. Insert open end of s-hook into black elastic tensioner and pull shook through. Place second s-hook through other end of tensioner and squeeze shook around ground stake.
To set up court, first set up volleyball net and uprights. Position boundary cord on
ground with two long sides perpendicular to the net. The center of the long side of
boundary is to be positioned under net. The side boundary cord is approximately 3’ from
upright. When you are satisfied with the boundary layout, drive stakes fully into the
ground at one end only. Go to the other end of the court and pull each corner tight so as
to stretch tensioners and drive stakes at an angle into the ground. Have a good game with
no disputes as to whether the ball is “in” or “out”.
