Hello, How is your week going so far? Have you been able to work on decreasing your stress? Remember, some stressors can be removed immediately, while others are going to take some time. In order to work on reducing your stress, you need to start in a place of “calm”. So, make sure you take a few minutes for yourself and find a relaxing environment. Then think of the last time you were stressed. What triggered it? How did you react to it physically (i.e. maybe your shoulders tensed up, you clenched your jaw, you felt your heart rate increase)? The next time you are in a stressful situation, pay attention to those physical triggers. You can use them to identify the onset of stress and start to combat it before it gets too big. Next, think of more healthy ways you can decrease your stress: go for a walk, run, swim or hike. Pray or meditate. Close your eyes and picture something that is calming to you (a beautiful scene in nature, your child’s face, an activity you enjoy).
