WELCOME MESSAGE
Chairpersons Message of Welcome
On behalf of the New Zealand Secondary School Boys Football Association (NZSSBFA), I would like to
take the opportunity to wish all participants in our Secondary School Tournaments a successful
week.
Our committee extends its thanks to the many hard working tournament coordinators of 2016 and
to the tireless workers and volunteers at each of the venues.
To all coaches, managers, supporters, and referees our thanks for your support of boys football.
Please express your gratitude through your courtesy and respect for all officials and facilities
throughout the tournament.
Our tournaments continue to grow in popularity, which makes for very competitive tournaments.
Football continues to be one of the leading growth sports in the country and there are many
opportunities to represent NZSSBFA, Federation and New Zealand at different age group levels.
This year the NZSSBFA U19 team undertook a four match tour to Australia in the July holidays.
Thank you to the management and coaching team of Neil Penfolds, Simon Foy and John Whittle for
organising this successful tour. It is pleasing to see the NZSSBFA re-establish our connections with
Australian Schoolboy football and hopefully this will be on a more regular basis in the future.
I would like to acknowledge the continued support and sponsorship from Lotto and The Soccer Shop
for once again sponsoring and supporting NZSSBFA and resigning a three year sponsorship deal with
our association.
Thank you, the schools, for your continued support of the Association, the NZSSBFA Representative
team and the tournaments. I wish you all the best and hope your tournament week goes well.
Hugh Russell
Chairperson

Aoraki Secondary School Sport
On behalf of Aoraki Secondary School Sport and South Canterbury Football, we welcome all
competitors, managers and supporters to the 2016 Jim Wishart Football Tournament.
It is with great pleasure that we are able host this event and showcase all we have in
Timaru. We hope all players, officials and supporters have an enjoyable stay and are
able to experience the hospitality, facilities and sights that the region has to offer.
Over the following four days, our hope is that the talent at this tournament comes to the fore
and as the scene is set for some high quality and exciting football, the idea of fair play and
sportsmanship will not be forgotten. We sincerely wish every team the very best in an injury
free quest to become title champions.
We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all those people who have helped
to make this tournament possible by giving their time, energy and expertise.
Best wishes to you all for a positive and memorable tournament.
Shaun Campbell
