Feeling a little lost IN THE SYSTEM? Frustrated with developmental detours? Not sure which way to turn? Announcing The Advocate’s Toolbox series at Western Colorado Community College (WCCC). These advocacy enabling opportunities aim to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their caregivers, and those who provide services. The FREE classes and workshops will provide clarity, information, and resources in inclusive settings that supply participants with the tools to build their own maps, to be in control of their own destinations, to enjoy the journey. All classes are from 6-8pm at WCCC. Respite reimbursement is available for qualified participants. Sign up for one class or all six. Class size is limited. And remember… Any trip a map can help us get from the start to our destination. Advocacy through learning about educational and human rights, guardianships, financial planning and service plans can develop into our own built-in GPS. Additionally, tuning-up our civic voices and nurturing our engines helps to build better community roads, which decreases the need and frequency for bypasses.
