Musical Babes (Infant Care Programme)
(3 months – 18 months)
“Music stimulates growth in the brain that can result in
better motor skills, advanced auditory and language skills
and a smarter adult.”
In the Octave 1 class, your baby will learn through vocal play,
object/instrument exploration and creative movement. Your
child (with the caregiver’s help) will be dancing, singing,
giggling and enjoying every movement of our repertoire of
songs, rhymes, baby exercises and dances. These valuable
experiences will instill in your child a lifelong love of music all the
while developing all his vital physical (fine & gross motor skills,
balance, etc), emotional (sense of well being, joy of music etc)
and social skills (turn taking).

body percussion), instrument play and exploration,

Octave 1 (PG, N1)
“Between the ages of 1 and 3, kids respond best to music when they
actively experience it. …get your child rocking, marching, rolling,
tapping, clapping, and moving to the beat.”
– D’Arcy Lyness, PhD
The Octave 1 class is a musical world filled with singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and sound
identification, instrument exploration, and creative movement. These activities develop your
toddler’s vocabulary, listening skills, gross and fine motor skills as well as musicianship. Your child
will also be acquiring pre-reading skills in our interactive story time. This programme is designed
to help your toddler gain confidence, self-control and communication skills while having fun!
Octave 2 (N1, N2)
“Music lessons have been shown to improve children’s performance in school. After
eight months of music lessons, preschoolers tested showed a 46% boost in their
spatial IQ, which is crucial for higher brain functions such as complex mathematics.”
– Frances Rauschrer, Ph.D., University of California, Irvine
Possibilities abound for exploring music and movement with the 3 to 5 year olds as they are full
of imagination, enthusiasm, spontaneity and curiosity! Using an integrated arts approach, these
preschoolers will be exploring elements of music and movement through various modes such as
instrument play, drama, dance/movement, games and literature. You can expect them to grow
leaps and bounds through their own creativity and discovery of their world and things around
them.
Octave 3 (K1, K2)
“After comparing children who had music lessons with those who didn’t, scientists
from McMaster University, Canada, found that …The children with music lessons had
better memories as well as higher literacy and math levels. All the kids in the study
were aged 4-6 years.”
– Medical News Today
With a keen intellect, the kindergarteners
are ready for more challenging tasks in
musicianship building. Our integrated
learning approach emphasizes the
process rather than the product and sets
the tone for a more discipline musiclearning journey. In this level, your child
will learn to read musical notation to the
music they learn aurally as well as music
rudiments (i.e. performance vocabulary,
solfa, note names etc.). Your child will
be learning the glockenspiel, ukulele
and recorder as well as experience
as vast repertoire of music. This
program also lays the foundation for the
kindergartener to appreciate the arts
and to help them prepare for formal
musical pursuits, be they instrumental, vocal
or dance lessons.
