Meeting called to order by Kay Dickerson, Chair, there was a quorum. Darrin Webster led the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Council Attendees: Kay Dickerson, Christy Seiger-Webster, Linda Price, Richard Snow,
Darrin Webster and Paulina Flint.
Council Excused: none
Council Not Excused: Cody Cutler, Lenelle Sanchez
Visitors: Allan Perry, Roy Miller Scoutmaster with Troop 735
Approval of October 6, 2016 Minutes – Motion approved with edits, seconded, and approved.
Treasurer’s report – Motion, seconded, and approved.
o Motion to ask SLCo for the entire Southeast Township Days event budget, rather than
working through all the different community councils. Leave on agenda.
Unified Police Report – Attending: Detective Paula Stinson, Chief Jason Mazuran
o Data provided by Detective Stinson: Total Calls: 119; Total Cases: 47.
o Issues with parking on streets around Bear Park. Has impacted emergency vehicle
access to residents. Detective Stinson will continue to follow up and will get back to us.
o Council asked about traffic on Sego Lily at the school cross-walks. Detective Stinson
has contacted Sandy City and the school. She will continue to follow up and will get
back to us.
o Continue to have issues with vehicle burglaries. Also have seen people posing as doorto-door sales to case the neighborhood. Have found a homeless camp in Dimple Dell.
Mayor’s Report o Greg Schultz’s position may be eliminated. Paulina and Nancy Carlson-Gotts (ACCT)
will be meeting with the Municipal Services District administration about his position.
Greg’s position as West Side Council Representative is not a political appointment.

o Paulina reports that the MSD has issued a draft organizational chart and the budget
from SLCo is approximately half of the stated amount from last spring. Paulina has
requested an official statement of the reasons for the discrepancy and expressed
concerns of inappropriate handling of funds within the county (co-mingling of
monies). Leave on the agenda.
• SLCo Municipal Services made a presentation about the different
services covered. See attached handout. Representatives included: Scott
Baird, Frederick Lutze, Jami Johanson, Brittany Allen, Allison Weyher,
Stacee Adams.
ACCT Report –
o ACCT will be forming a nominating committee for next year’s officers.

o The Mountain Accord is being disbanded and replaced with an interlocal agreement
called the Central Wasatch Commission. The stated goals are protecting the water
shed, transportation improvements, and funding sources.
• ACCT opposes the Central Wasatch Commission. SLCo holding a
meeting for public comment on Nov. 15, 2016 at 6 pm at the SLCo
offices.
• Motion: WCTCC go on record as opposing the Central Wasatch
Commission. Seconded and approved.
Emergency Preparedness – Attending: Janice Kirby, Kelly Collinson
o Add an emergency information tab to the website. Leave on the agenda.
Other Business:
o SLCo moving forward on building a trail along the old canal. They are looking
at adding speed bumps on Galena Drive where the trail will cross over to
Edgemont Elementary. Leave on the agenda.
o Historical Preservation Committee/White Tower Swimming Pool has been
established. The funds from the annual breakfast were used as seed money for
the accounts. The architect has visited the site. They are looking for donated
labor for roofing.
Southeast Township Days:
o Next year’s event is scheduled for August 26, 2017, the last Saturday in August.
Council Matters:
o Secretary needs to go with the Treasurer to the Bank and get added to the accounts.
o Council needs to determine if the community council will remain as an advisory
board following the election of the township council.
o Need a new representative from District #5 (replace Jeremy Christensen).
