utilizing your barter dollars.

she can market you effectively and accurately to other members. We believe this service will prove
invaluable to you; you will now have another company promoting and selling your company. We
are very happy you have decided to join the BarterPays! family of traders.

Key Policies
The BarterPays! Rules are part of your Membership Agreement. They are the
policies and regulations of our Network. Below we list the key policies of the
BarterPays! Rules, in non-legalspeak. Please review the actual BarterPays! Rules
online (See Terms and Conditions) for the policies in full.
• Identify yourself as a member of BarterPays!. • Get your referrals for purchases from your BarterPays! broker, not other members.
• BarterPays! does not guarantee to bring you new business; you need to take advantage of the
marketing tools we offer and promote yourself.
• BarterPays! is not responsible if a product or service you want is unavailable.
• Members that sell more in the Network get to purchase items that are in limited supply and greater
demand. • Sell at 100% BarterPays!; no part-cash deals or only-cash deals are permitted.
• Do not exclude, restrict or limit your offerings without written approval from BarterPays!.
• If a member refuses to service you on barter, do not pay cash to the business. Let us know immediately.
• Do not refuse business or go “on hold” without advising BarterPays!.
• If you can’t barter it, you can’t sell it to a member for cash.
• Do not price gouge or charge more than normal, everyday prices.
• Do not ask a member to honor a coupon or discount when purchasing.
• There are surcharge fees for some purchases at high-demand members and categories, determined by
your own sales volume and performance in BarterPays!, and your own business’s offerings and category. • Do not switch a deal originated from BarterPays! to direct trades.
• Do not switch a deal originated from BarterPays! to other barter networks.
• Do not give out our confidential member names or anything printed or distributed by BarterPays! to
other barter groups.
• BarterPays! will freeze your barter dollars if your account is past-due in paying fees, your account is
overdrawn, or you have violated member policy.
• BarterPays! will freeze your barter dollars if you have disputed a credit card payment to us, until the
dispute is resolved.
• Broker’s fee is due at time of sale for any purchase of $500 or more.
• BarterPays! is not responsible for problem transactions. • Members that have terminated accounts must pay their negative trade balance in US Funds.

We have a members-only section at www.BarterPays.biz. Please register your account to access the
BarterPays! interactive website. You’ll be able to navigate member listings in select categories, and to
place classified listings, last minute deals, and more. You can review travel, shop the TradeMart, and
purchase tickets and gift certificates. You can review your account history and get your monthly
statements online. You so not have to register to do authorizations online.
Live help during business hours.
Your barter reps are here to help you navigate your way around the BarterPays! Network. The
main way you will get information on member availability is by emailing or calling the barter gals for
referrals. When you are looking to spend, we start by referring the members that offer the greatest
availability in our Network, and usually the best values, too. We will refer by phone in most cases so
we can discuss your needs (but sometimes by email or text, if you prefer). We refer initially the
members that make up the majority of our membership. We suggest limousines, accountants, carpet
cleaners, photographers, day camp, dry cleaning, advertising and marketing opportunities. For more
complex referrals, such as home improvement projects, an advertising campaign, or wedding plans,
we do not refer via email; we need to talk!
In most cases, we will place your florist orders, gift basket deliveries and limousine
transportation for you. We select the companies that best match your needs. Call us to place your
home delivery of plants and floral arrangements, and to book your car service.
And, if a small glitch occurs with any of the referrals the brokers have given you, or from the
Directory listings online, you can call us and we’ll help you through the process of connecting with
the original referral, or finding an alternate source for your needs. We want to know how the
referrals we gave you panned out. We want to know if you’re satisfied.

How to authorize your sales transactions
To record your sales.
• Use the online system on BarterPays.biz, or
• Call the BarterPays! office during business hours for live help.
The Seller is responsible for calling in his/her own sales. An employee can run an authorization as you
don’t have to be logged in or be a registered user to access the Authorizations screen online.
• Go to www.barterpays.com or www.barterpays.biz and click on Authorizations.
• Enter the Buyer’s seven-digit account number (the main account number is five-digits, plus the twodigit individual for a Member; seven digits for a non-member Diners/Plus card),
• Then enter your five-digit Seller’s account number.
• Enter the amount of transaction including cents.
• Add an optional description line.
• Authorize transaction. If the Member gets declined, you may call the BarterPays! office during business
hours at (732) 364-4614 to see if we can override the barter purchase, or you may get a credit card for
backup payment.
• Optional: You may use the supplied BarterPays! two-part Transaction Form to record the transaction.
The Seller and Buyer each retain a copy for their records. You can also record the authorization number
on a contract, receipt, etc.
• The barter dollars will be available to the Seller’s account the following morning after we update.
BarterPays! reserves the right to withhold barter dollars for work not yet completed.
• Call a barter rep during business hours to process a refund or credit adjustment. The online system
cannot process refunds.
Monthly Statements and Fee Processing
Your BarterPays! monthly Statement is available online for review by the second business day
of the month (except in emergency situation). You will need to register on BarterPays.biz. If
you are set up for automatic credit card payments, your credit card will be billed on or about
the tenth of the month. You have thirty (30) days from Statement date to review for errors. If
you discover an error, please notify BarterPays! immediately.
If you handle your own credit card processing, or pay by check or cash, please ensure
payment is received by the fifteenth of the month to avoid late fees and account freeze.
If you pay your fees by credit card and discover an error: Do not dispute the transaction fee
with your credit card company, but please call BarterPays!. If you are due a refund for any
charge, the cash credit will be applied towards future cash fees due to BarterPays!. Disputing
credit card payments may result in a freeze of your BarterPays! account until the dispute is
settled.
The BarterPays! software will retain twelve (12) months of Statements online. We
recommend you print them out to ensure you have a hard copy for your tax records.

Your membership cards
Your BarterPays! membership card is your identification card and credit card for the BarterPays!
system. Each membership card has its own individual identification number; you can track
purchases by cardholder on your account.
Your account number has five digits. However, each member has its own two-digit number
to differentiate cardholders. Please bring your cards with you when you are purchasing with a
BarterPays! vendor.
Membership cards are required for identification and are not transferable. Please do not give
your BarterPays! card to anyone other than the name assigned on the card. This is for your security
and protection. We recommend issuing a card for each person who has authority to use your barter
account on an ongoing basis. For short-term or one-time use, we suggest you accompany the person
making a barter purchase, or buy a non-member DinersPlus card, as described below.

• Security and Protection for You: There’s no exposure of your private account information;
Diners/Plus allow you to distribute barter dollars safely and securely.
• Easy to get started
• Make Additional Deposits any Time You Want. Deposit barter dollars into the Diners/Plus online.
(This is a great way to pay sales commissions and bonuses to employees.)

Tipping and Restaurant Policies
We are happy to make your dinner reservations and recommend dining in your area. Call us! To
sign for a meal, bring your membership card with you to participating restaurants. Restaurants
accept member card, with exceptions noted on restaurant listing online. We recommend you call first
to ensure restaurant is currently accepting BarterPays!. Please call office immediately if you are
refused.
Most member restaurants do NOT sell gift certificates or gift cards. Instead, order BarterPays!
DinersCards, ideal for gift-giving. We do have a small amount of gift certificates from select members
who wish us to sell them. Call the office for current inventory or check the BarterPays.biz for
available gift certificates in stock.
Eating at Restaurants on Weekends and Big Holidays
Please be respectful of our restaurant members and keep in mind that weekends and special
occasions are the main time the average restaurant makes money for the week. If you have a party
over six, need catering or a private room, or wish to dine during peak periods such as Valentine’s
Day, Mother’s Day or graduation nights, please contact BarterPays! for assistance in scheduling.
When possible, make an effort to patronize your favorite eateries on weekdays or during off hours.
Most of our small restaurants that offer fine dining require reservations; please mention BarterPays!.
Gratuity Policies at Restaurants
20% minimum tip is required (depending on establishment). Larger parties, particularly those that
sit awhile, require a larger percentage. Remember to include an additional 7% for NJ State sales tax.
10% tip for takeout orders or delivery at restaurants (not delis). Tip and tax must be left in cash (not
credit card, check or barter dollars) on the table or given to the server.
BarterPays! maintains a large, quality selection of restaurants with your cooperation. Do not risk
your restaurant trading privileges by tipping short. If you receive poor service and feel an 20% tip is
not appropriate, please advise the manager why you are tipping short.
Celebrations and Special Events. We have great caterers who can do off-premises catering for
you at all price points. Our caterers are NOT listed on our Restaurant List. When you are planning a
cocktail party, summer pool party, buffet dinner, corporate lunch, elegant brunch, graduation
celebration, engagement party, or dessert party, call us! We also have DJs, casino nights, rentals,
invitations and decorations.
Tipping Guidelines Other Industries:
• Limo service: 20% cash gratuity plus tolls and tax
• DJs, performers: 10-20%
• Beauty professionals, massage therapists, dog groomers: 20% (plus NJ sales tax). It’s customary to tip owners.

During your first 30 days of membership, we offer free printing and double the referral bonuses;
after 90 days we want to make sure you are happy with the program... and we’ll refund your initial
membership fee if you’re not completely satisfied.

We’ll print and distribute your flyer in our monthly mailing for FREE, when you supply your flyer for
printing during the first 30 days of membership. We’ll need your camera-ready advertisement on
white background with black print, 8-1/2 x 11 inches. No gray screens, photographs or heavy
reverses, please. Email to [email protected] or drop off a hard copy at the office. Hurry! Offer

If you prefer to supply us with at least 500 printed trifolds, flyer or postcard, you can use your free

3 At 90 Days: Money-Back Guarantee.
Members may terminate their account anytime. However, we will refund the initial membership fee
at 90-100 days of fair trading. Notify us by phone, email, mail, or in person. Any fees due are
deducted from the initial membership fee. Member cards and red book must be returned. Any
earned trade balance is paid in a BarterPays! DinersCard.
A new member will not qualify for membership fee refund if s/he:
• Refuses to serve other members during the trial period, or ignores member requests to serve.
• Violates fair-trading policies, including, but not limited to: Solicits members to do business outside
of BarterPays!, part-cash transactions, price gouging, or otherwise violates the Member policies.
• Fails to provide the BarterPays! marketing team advertising flyer during the first 30 days of
membership, that BarterPays! prints and distributes at no charge to the current member base.
• Terminates account before or after trial period.
