This Quick Read Will Blow Your Mind

The human body is a strangely complicated and obscure system, one that still confuses doctors and scientists
consistently despite myriads of ages of medicinal knowledge. As a result, it shouldn’t be any surprise that even
body parts and functions we deal with every day have unusual or unexpected facts and reasons behind them. From sniffles to nail growth, here are some mind-boggling weird and exciting facts about the human body. Let's
have a look!
1. Babies have more bones than adults.
A newborn infant has 60 more bones than a full grown adult. What happens to all of the extra bones as they
grow up? Well, Most of them fuse together with real bones to build an adult skeleton. These bones are stronger
and more suited to sustain blunt force impact than the smaller bones babies are born with.
2. The strongest muscle in the body.
Are biceps the strongest muscle in the human body? Triceps? Perhaps one of the muscles which make up our
robust legs. Not even close. The masseter muscle found in our jaw is by far the strongest muscle found in the
human body. It makes sense why so many of us can talk for hours on end.
3. Oh! that smell.
Did you know that sweat is actually odourless? Body odour is created by sweat mixing with bacteria in the skin
which causes the offensive odour. So if you are trying to get rid of body odour, look into products which will
reduce how much unhealthy bacteria the skin produces. Stay odourless, my friends.
4. Tongue print.
The human tongue shares something unique with our fingers. Every tongue has its unique print which
distinguishes it from other languages, so next time you interact with another person's language, be sure to be
mindful of how unique it is. I wonder how long it will be before governments use tongue prints on IDs?
5. Power of the mind.
While a human is awake, their mind produces enough electricity to power a small light bulb. That's incredible
when we consider the capabilities of humanity - what if there were a way to harness that electricity? With the
constant advances in technology, there could become a time where that is possible. 6. The power of bone.
Steel is no match for human bones. Ounce for ounce and pound for pound, human bone is stronger even than
steel. This tidbit is one of the most remarkable facts about the human body. Imagine if we could produce
materials as efficiently as our human body does. Quite remarkable to think about, isn't it?
7. Blue eyed drinking buddies.
You may want to rethink the next time you challenge someone with blue eyes to a drinking contest. Evidently,
those with blue eyes have a higher on average alcohol tolerance than those with darker coloured eyes. Doesn't
seem to be fair, but you have been warned ahead of time.
