ON-SITE PARTY OPTION
Our parties are naturally fun! No matter which theme you choose, your child’s party is
bound to be a happy, hands-on experience. On-site parties last two hours with one hour
of leader-directed activities, both indoors and out.

OFF-SITE PARTY OPTION
Our leaders bring the party to you! This program runs for one hour at your desired location. The leader presents three live animals, as well as other natural items.

Looking for more birthday party fun? Order eco-friendly goody bags, add reusable party
ware, and even add a 20-minute visit from Hoot the Owl!
All goody bags and party ware are customized for your party’s theme. Reusable party ware
includes plates, cups, napkins, tablecloths, utensils and lemonade. Hoot visits during the
second hour of the party to sing “Happy Birthday” and take photos with guests.
Goody bags include tree pencil, recycled crayon, locally harvested honey sticks, plantable
seed paper cutouts and nature stickers.
To help celebrate the special day, the birthday boy/girl receives an Irvine “Explore Nature”
T-shirt!

ANIMAL SUPER HEROES

AHOY MATEY
Ages 3-5 | Offered year-round
What animal super powers would you like to
have? In this super party, participants learn about animal
movement and the awesome adaptations that animals use
to survive. We meet native animals, wear animal insprired
nature capes and practice our new super moves.
Ages 5-8 | Offered year-round
Ready for a pirate adventure? Head out on the trails for
a nature treasure hunt, learn about the wonders of water
and the Chesapeake Bay ­– all while in search of the
ultimate pirate treasure!
Ages 3-8 | Offered year-round
What is a wild animal? How is it different from a pet? ‘Roar
your terrible roars’ as we read a classic animal tale and meet
three live animals from Irvine’s own wild exhibits. Outdoor
games and trail activities included. We
will make a wild animal mask if weather
doesn’t permit outdoor exploration.
Ages 5-10 | Offered February only
Bundle up and join in the fun! Celebrate the magic of
maple trees through a frosty guided trail walk in the winter
woods. Participants discover secrets of the maple trees, taste
maple treats and meet some animals specimens that rely on
maple trees. An art project is included if weather does not
permit outdoor exploration.

Flowers and hummingbirds are a perfect match! Flit about
in the garden to play games as you search for blossoms and
animals that rely on these lovely blooms. Plant a flower to
take home, too.
Ages 3-8 | Offered year-round
Are the dinosaurs really gone? Party-goers will see that,
in fact, they live on! Participants meet two live animals that
have a lot in common with dino ancestors. We also dig for
dino bones, search for dinosaur eggs on the trail and make
a dinosaur-inspired art project.

WINTER WONDERLAND
Ages 3-10 | Offered December – March
Winter is fun in snow or sun! Icy adventures await on the
snowy trails. Participants uncover tall tales and winter myths
as they discover real habits of animals in winter. Play outdoor
games, read stories, meet some animals and create a winter
art project to bring home!
WOODLAND FAIRIES AND TEA PARTY
Ages 3-10 | Offered year-round
Toast with tiny tea cups and tip-toe in the woodland
garden to celebrate your birthday! Search for fairies
and clues, build fairy shelters on the trail and
meet a live animal who lives in the
woodland. Make a fairy wand, too!

Sounds like a party! What sounds do you hear in nature? Raise
some ruckus by making animal sounds including chirps, whistles
and growls using homemade instruments. We will make a recycled
instrument if weather doesn’t permit outdoor exploration.

Here’s a rare chance for animal-lovers to care for live animals!
Learn about the important job of an animal keeper and help
tend to our resident critters. Afterwards, assist wild animals
outdoors with a special take home project.
SCAVENGER HUNT
Ages 8-13 | Offered year-round
Search for clues on the trail to find a hidden treasure! Swap
out your party shoes for hiking boots and set foot on our
headwaters trail. We’ll hike to the wetlands with a naturalist
tour guide, but you must solve the clues to reveal a surprise!
