Matthew reported on the COC meeting October 15th. They are still focused on profiling. He spoke about HR
831, the House resolution against motorcycle profiling.
He also reported about federal legislation concerning distracted driving and E-15.
Kris briefly reported on the Meeting of the Minds and the Smart Trainer that Ron Braaksma, of the MRF A&E,
had there for everyone to try out. It costs $8,000, but would be a great thing to have when we set up places.
Matt needs a letter from Kris outlining all the things Dixie ABATE has managed to do to improve motorcycle
safety in Alabama. They have grants available.
We discussed again finding out how much it would cost to advertise on Birmingham city buses.
Our legislative day is Marcy 8, 2016. The legislature goes back into session February 7th.
We discussed AIM/NCOM, and will make plans to attend their next conference.
No nominations were made for unfilled positions for 2017.
The next meeting is at the Original Oyster House, 3733 Battleship Pkwy, Spanish Fort, AL 36527, at 3 PM on
December 10th.
