FIBER OPTIC TEST & MEASUREMENT
Official OFC Sponsor
SETUPSETUP
The Company
Yenista Optics designs and manufactures fiber optic test and
measurement equipment for a broad range of applications: from high
bandwidth communications to a wide variety of scientific and research
markets.
The products are all designed and manufactured on-site in Yenista’s stateof-the-art photonics manufacturing plant located at the headquarters in
Lannion, France. Yenista has two subsidiaries; one in Newbury Park,
California dedicated to the North American market and the other in
Shanghai, for China.
Component Test Platform
The CTP10 is a modular measurement platform for efficient testing of
passive components in 24/7 operation. It features parallel measurement
by handling up to 4 DUTs simultaneously.
Fastest Swept & Stepped IL & RL Measurement
The CTP10 outperforms all existing instruments for IL & RL measurement.
It offers a dynamic range of 70 dB in a single sweep for a tunable laser
speed at 100 nm/s with 10 dBm output power.
The power meter electronics has no slew rate issues: it can handle a filter
slope of 10,000 dB/nm at a 100 MHz wavelength sampling resolution.
Moreover, small IL ripple is accurately determined thanks to a power
sampling resolution of 0.1 mdB.
Next-gen Platform & Modules
The CTP10 mainframe hosts up to 10 modules that are hot swappable.
The following modules are available:
IL RL OPM2 Insertion loss and return loss measurement system
SCAN SYNC Optical sampling of swept wavelength lasers
OPMx Optical Power Meters (x= 2, 4 or 6)
Easy Interfacing with External Equipment
The CTP10 is compatible with most tunable lasers available on the market.
It controls them through a remote interface (Ethernet, USB-B or GPIB) using
the “electrical” trigger from the laser or the “optical” trigger generated by
a SCAN SYNC module.
Powerful Intuitive GUI with 2 External Screens
The embedded software offers a powerful and intuitive GUI that can be
displayed on 2 screens: one for the graphical configuring of the test set-up
and the other for display and analysis of the measurements.
Once graphically and physically configured, the test set-up is immediately
ready for making measurements.

Yenista Optics’ filters are wavelength
tunable and bandwidth adjustable.
The use of bulk optics in combination with
diffraction gratings leads to high selectivity,
low insertion losses and dispersion.
Thanks to the adjustable bandwidth and
very steep edges, the XT filters are the
reference tool allowing for precise filtering
of a channel or even of a subdivision of a
channel.
Models Available in SMF and PMF
• XTA-50 Automatic wavelength tuning
and bandwidth adjustment
• XFA-xxx Identical to XTA-50 but with
factory-set bandwidth
• XTM-50 Manual wavelength tuning and
bandwidth adjustment
• Also O-band version available

PHOTONICS
The BOSA is a stimulated Brillouin scattering based optical spectrum analyzer.
BOSA 100 + T100S-HP/O/M and/or T100S-HP/CL/M
Yenista has partnered with Aragon Photonics Labs to offer its customers an
excellent Hi-Res OSA that perfectly combines with its T100S-HP lasers, both
having the highest dynamic range available on the market. In the set-up, the
BOSA 100 operates with Yenista’s tunable laser through GPIB and a Trigger.
Analysis of Modulation Formats and Laser Lines
The Hi-Res OSA is well suited for analysis of complex modulation formats
such as PAM4 for datacenters and PolMux QAM and PSK for Metro &
Long-Haul Coherent Systems. Extension options are available for
polarization analysis and phase measurements. The Hi-Res OSA is also
well adapted to the characterization of laser devices such as accurate
distance between side modes, SMSR and chirp.
