To this end the BMNA aims to:
 Follow the directions of Emergency services
 Make decisions about the playing conditions of the courts due to adverse weather
conditions, an unsafe environment or foreseeable danger.
 Make public the outcome of abandonment of play decisions to members of the
BMNA
 Provide a safe playing environment at Lapstone netball Courts
Procedures/strategies
Weather
 The decision regarding the abandonment of games due to wet weather shall be
made by the Wet Weather committee or officials appointed for such purposes. In the
event of no play, the Weather committee or appointed officials shall make public the
cancellation of games through club representatives (e.g: SMS, phone, email,
webpage) at 7.30am for junior games and 11.30am for senior games.
 It is the responsibility of all clubs to advise team of abandoned games.
Executive and official role
 Once play has commenced the decision to continue play will be made by a quorum
of the executive committee after all attempts have been made to contact all members
of the executive committee.
 Although it is the responsibility of umpires to ensure that the playing conditions are
safe, in the end it is the association’s decision whether, due to adverse conditions,
unsafe environment or foreseeable dangers:
o The match should commence;
o The match should continue;
o The match should be abandoned
o Where a game is abandoned for any reason other than wet weather or forfeit, the
executive committee and the council shall determine what action is to be taken in
relation to the result of the game. (The game may be awarded to either team, a draw
may be declared or the game may be replayed)
