Described as one of the most recognised sires in
the breed for his curve bending figures, it comes as
no suprise that Digger holds almost 1,900 pedigree
registrations. His balanced offering can be demonstrated
through his EBV’s, ranking him in the top 1% of the
breed for calving ease direct and carcass weight,
along with terminal and self replacing index. Although
a recognised sire for serving heifers and producing
female replacements, Digger can still consistently
produce a class winner. Digger’s son, Whitecliffe Highlight
sold for 31,000gns in Carlisle in 2013 where earlier that
day he took Reserve Junior Champion, Reserve Overall
Male Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion.

Laertes was worthily awarded Hereford and
Poll Bull of the Year 2016. His accolade of
achievments were outstanding, at Shropshire
Show he took Male Champion, while at the Royal
Highland, Royal Welsh, Shropshire County, Ashby
and Burwarton, he was awarded Male Champion,
Breed Champion and Interbreed Champion. His
other achievements have included being part of the
Marks and Spencer Native Group of Champions
at the Royal Welsh Show 2016, and Native Group
of Three Interbreed at the Highland Show.

Laertes has been destined a lifetime of show
success, having achieved Reserve Male Champion
when he was only 9 months old at his first show,
Buckingham County Show in 2014. He followed on
from this to take Breed Champion at Newark Calf Show.
Progeny from Laertes are rapidly following in
their fathers foot steps, with one of his first progeny
winning their class at the Christmas Calf Show held
at Shrewsbury Cattle Market in 2016. His breeder
has reported heifer calves have been averaging
36kg at birth, with bull calves averaging 42kg.
Laertes was bred from Romany 1 Distiller and
the 2011 Female of the Year and Poll Female
of the Year, Normanton 1 Jews Ear C21. Jews Ear
has been an exceptional cow, at eleven years of
age she is still in the herd, having produced
three Polled Bull and three Overall Bulls of the Year;
Normanton 1 Eastern Promise 2011, Normanton
1 Lionel 2015, and now Normanton 1 Laertes.
