Science: Key questions for this area of learning: Why did the Vikings have a dragon on their boats? How did the Vikings travel such long distances? Physical Education: We will be playing with bat and ball this half term. The Cricket season has begun. It is time to ‘change’. We are looking at the change of state of certain materials and whether this change can be reversed. History: The Vikings are coming! We will find about their lifestyle and the battles they had. Music: We will be looking at Viking inspired music, and we will be trying to re-create this using instruments in school. Design and technology: We are going to make Viking helmets this half term. We will be ready for battle! Computing: Beowulf Myths Legends We will be creating our own Viking e-book this half term. We will be using action buttons and hyperlinks We will be using the text ‘How to be a Viking’ to write our information text. Opportunities for Maths: How far did the Vikings travel? French: We will be going to town with our French work this half term. Ok it is all to do with the places where we live and the buildings that we see. Visits, visitors or key events We will be meeting up with the children from Horton Mill, when we visit Castleshaw in May.
