Their name means “waves” and represents all the seas surrounding Greece’s coast & islands. Based on the popular novel by Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek became an instant hit, garnering an Academy Award nomination for Anthony Quinn and making its famous soundtrack, world-famous. This year, the Kyklonas Dancers present “Greece on Film,” a dance program featuring regional and cultural dances from movies filmed in Greece, or about Greeks, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Zorba’s release. You too can “see” Greece without leaving your living room!
