3rd February 2017 - Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School

Autumn Term 474
3rd February 2017
Sacred Heart Catholic
Primary School
Head Teacher - Mrs L Roach
Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year. Mrs Murray and
Year 3 led our celebration assembly followed by lots of
themed activities in the classrooms. We enjoyed a Chinese
banquet for lunch and the children had a fantastic day.
Thank you to all the parents who came in to help us out.
Brekkie and a Book
The Liverpool Peace Proms.
A big thank you to the families who attended
our Brekkie and a book event on Thursday.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast in our
school library, whilst sharing books and
stories. What a fantastic way to start the day!
Look out for information on our next session,
taking place after half term.
On Saturday 28th January, our school choir took part in
the ‘Liverpool Peace Proms’ for the first time. The
event was held at the Echo Arena and involved nearly
2000 children from across England and Wales, coming
together to sing a variety of modern, classical and
traditional songs from across the decades. Our children
spent many months rehearsing and preparing for the
concert. Their commitment was clear to see in their
performance. Congratulations to all those who took part.
You are a credit to our school and your families. Well
done!!
Throughout the year, we take part in
many exciting events. If you would like
to be part of our fantastic choir, please
see Mr Thomas or Mrs Murray.
Nursery celebrated Chinese New Year.
We made a huge Dragon, fans, noodles,
lanterns and Happy New Year Cards.
We enjoyed wearing
refraction glasses and
exploring electrons
during Science day.
We have been reading stories
that feature nocturnal animals
(our favourite is Owl Babies).
We have also been
drawing and writing
about animals too!
