Match Report
After a long break from matches (due to weather), we played our first games at Highfield. This was a
mini tournament and was certainly two contrasting matches.
Our first was against Highfield. This was a match in which we came out confidently. It was as if we had
not even had a break. We worked well as team, by keeping our positions well, looking for space and
supporting each other - both during runs and in tackles. Rocco, Tom, Archie and Gabriel made some
really solid runs - with many ending in tries. However, the win would not of been possible if it was not
for Monty. He made some fantastic tackles and would not let any Highfield players through without
putting up some solid resistance. A special mention to be made to Alex who made some important
tackles and a couple of good runs, without any hesitation.
The second match was quite a bit trickier. Lambrook were a very strong side and this lead us to panic
and forget much of what we know. This caused us to make many mistakes and we let through many
tries - most of which we should of stopped. We did some attempted tackles from Seth, Keiran, Jack and
Aurther. Charles made a few runs, but next time he must remember to run forwards.
Overall it was good to be outside playing matches again after such a long period of time. We must now
work on being consistent, even in the face of a stronger side.
