26TH ANNUAL ARTS EVENT CELEBRATES “LIVING IN COLOR”
Stop at any corner in downtown Phoenix and take a
moment to look around. Everywhere you look you’ll see the
color and feel the vibrant energy that is pulsing through
our city. At the heart of this energy and color is a
deeply-rooted and expanding community of artists and
arts entrepreneurs who are proud to make downtown
Phoenix their creative home.
For 26 years, the downtown Phoenix arts community has
held this open house inviting you to explore the spaces
where artists create, exhibit, and sell their work. From
private studios opened to visitors just two days a year, to
coffee house walls, out-of-the-ordinary art spaces,
“pop-up” galleries, and fully developed, professional
exhibition spaces, Art Detour rolls out the welcome mat and
invites everyone in.
Hop on one of the free, circulating shuttles and let this map
help you discover the creative pulse of your downtown.
This incredible weekend comes together through the
collaborative efforts of many participants, volunteers,
sponsors and elves in the night. Join us in thanking each

POP-UP GALLERIES
Artlink’s Pop-up galleries combine raw space and
talent to create a refined cultural experience.
Defining features of the pop-up galleries are that
they come and go, and they possess an element of
surprise in which viewers stumble upon art when
and where they don’t expect it, thus altering the
experience of seeing it. Artlink will foster this
on-going program and expand the available
spaces for artists to show their work.

Art Detour is a two-day event that invites you to take a self-guided tour of more than 100
studios, galleries, art spaces and more in greater downtown Phoenix. It’s a unique
opportunity to see artists in their natural habitats and see remarkable shows in traditional
galleries, as well as pop-up spots, and unusual art spaces.
PARKING
There are four Park-and-Ride Hubs set up throughout downtown. Park at one of the Hubs,
stop by the info booth for maps and answers to your questions, then hop on the free
double-decker London bus that will circulate along the official Detour route. Pick your
destination from the map and hop on/hop off as you like. A shuttle will stop at
approximately 20-minute intervals throughout the day.

LIGHT RAIL & BIKE
Use the light rail to Detour! Start at Camelback and Central where our northernmost
destinations will be open and ride on down Central Ave. Once downtown, you can jump on
the free Detour shuttle and enjoy the fun, with no worries about parking. Bring your bike
along and create your own bike Detour.

Many of the participating galleries and art spaces are featuring kid-friendly exhibitions and
hands-on activities. Look for the
