1.0 Introduction
The following instruction details the adding of a Wireless Remote Indicator Module to a
Radio Loop Module/Radio Hub and also two methods of programming the cause and
effect rules on the FireCell Wireless Syncro and AS versions of control panel to:
i)
ii)
Linking a zone of devices to a Remote Indicator Module (RIM)
Link a single device to a Remote Indicator Module (RIM)
The instruction has been written for engineers that have completed training on the
FireCell product range and therefore have knowledge of the product and the basic
programming functionality of the control panel.
The instruction therefore assumes that the engineers are practised in the methodology of
removing, editing and sending control panel Loop Explorer setup files to the FireCell
control panel.
Before starting the programming the following items must be available.
•
1x Laptop with FireCell CIE programming software installed ( Loop Explorer
V60020E)
•
1 x FireCell control panel programming lead. Part No. FC-000-KEN

8.0 Testing the RIM functionality
Following the programming of the Wireless Remote Indicator Module to the system and
completion of the control panels required cause and effect programming it is
recommended that the systems operation is fully tested to ensure correct operation.
Below are some testing recommendations to ensure correct functionality.
Cause and effect programmed for linking a Zone of devices to a Remote
Indicator Module.
•
Activate a device into a Fire Alarm condition in a zone which also has a RIM
allocated to that zone.
•
Ensure that the device operated into an alarm condition LED illuminates and also
the RIM which is allocated to that zone LED illuminates.
•
Silence the Control panel. The LED’s will still be illuminated.
•
Reset the fire alarm condition on the control panel. The devices LED which
operated into an alarm condition will extinguish and also the RIM LED which is
allocated to that zone will extinguish.
•
Repeat the above test for each device in the Zone. On each occasion the RIM’s
LED will operate and follow the operation as described above.
Note: The RIM LED will only illuminate for Fire Alarm activations in the allocated
Zone. The LED should not illuminate for any other activations.
