What is a Beaver’s house made of?
A beaver’s house is
made of a lot of wood
piled on top of each
other. They are called
dams.
The dam can be
about 12 feet tall!

What do Beavers eat?
Beavers are picky eaters. They are
herbivores, which means they eat plants.
They are not carnivores, which means
they do not eat other animals. Beavers do
not eat the bark of trees; they chew on it to
make their teeth shorter or else they will
get too long!

Beavers live in the
water. Their nostrils
and ears close
automatically when
they go under water.
How do beavers reproduce?
Beavers give birth. The
babies are bald and
they have a small tail.
They are called kits.
The parents teach their
babies everything they
need to know.

Man uses beaver fur
and makes fur coats,
hats and more.
Man is the beaver’s
worst enemy.
How are beavers useful to humans?
Beavers are useful to
us because they
clean our forests and
make it neat.
They also control the
water level of lakes.

predators are wolves
and bears. They are
vicious.
