An ornithologist and oologist, Mr Lodge has served as a volunteer with the Department of
Ornithology at the Western Australia Museum for over 40 years; during this time he has
accompanied staff on expeditions to study birds in the Gibson and Great Sandy deserts.
Contributed to surveys in the Gardner, Denison Ranges, East Kimberley and Southern
Kimberley, and along the Ord River.
Made his boat, Sea Eagle, available to the Western Australia Museum for use in studies.
In recent years, has assisted with seabird surveys on the Houtman Abrolhos, the Whipbird
and endangered cockatoos.
Prepared specimens for the Museum.
