The following features were added:
Meridian GCF/Project Portal is now included, which allows Meridian Enterprise vault folders to be
shared with Meridian Project Portal folders. For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian
GCF/Project Portal Administrator's Guide.
Open standard briefcase file formats (.zip, .rar) are now supported by GCF/SharePoint.
Besides the additional ease of use, these formats do not have the size (260 MB) and time property
(only dates are transferred) limitations of the BRC format.
Meridian Project Portal workflow states can now be mapped to Meridian Enterprise workflow
states and controlled from VBScript. For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian GCF/Project
Portal Administrator's Guide.
The system properties that are common to both Meridian Enterprise and Meridian Project Portal
can now be mapped for synchronization. For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian
GCF/Project Portal Administrator's Guide.
The following features were changed:
Beginning with Global Collaboration Framework 2013 SP1, the To-Do Person property of documents owned at remote sites showed the name of the user instead of the name of the site. This
was changed to help mobile users to more easily find documents that are assigned to them. Consequently, the property AMDocumentWorkFlowPropertySet._TODOPERSON was added
to the registry settings that were merged and the property was added to the mappings in
AMBrc.ini. Those changes have been removed in this version.
The Revoke command did not work properly in SP2 and has been fixed.
When enlisting a site for a document that resides in a folder that has already been shared, the
Enlist Site dialog now shows only the sites that are enlisted for the folder instead of all shares.
If the Transfer option is enabled in the Enlist Site dialog, released documents that have not previously been collaborated on are not locked until the GCF export occurs.
An issue has been fixed that caused too many instances of the GCF Transfer processor to be started.
An Unknown share name error might happen while enlisting a GCF folder.
An Import error: Subscript out of range can occur when briefcase sequence validation is
enabled.
Miscellaneous minor issues have been fixed.
For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide
and BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework User's Guide.

3 W hat 's ne w in M e r idian G lo bal C o llabo r at io n F r am e w o r k 2012 S P1
Meridian Global Collaboration Framework 2012 SP1 was a BlueCielo internal milestone. It was not distributed publicly.
The following features were added:
The GCF actions of copying to a briefcase and importing from a briefcase are now included in the
Meridian FDA Module audit trail.
The privilege Edit Locked Document has been added to prevent changes to documents that
are not owned by the local site. Without this privilege, the Edit button on the property pages in the
Meridian Enterprise client applications is disabled.
Star topology support has been reinstated.
An alternative export algorithm has been added for vaults that manage documents that are extensively referenced.
A new property Custom.GCFDisableSync has been added that appears on the Collaboration
Status property page in PowerUser. The property can also be modified with VBScript.
The following features were changed:
Claim ownership has been enhanced to allow mobile workers to more easily transfer ownership to
themselves at other sites. Prior to this change, a user could only claim a released document, one
that was not in a workflow. With this change, it is now possible to claim ownership if a document is
routed to you (not in a released state) but owned by another site.
The VBScript function AllowCrossSiteWorkflow is now obsolete. Cross-site workflow is now
always enabled.
For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide
and BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework User's Guide.

4 W hat ’s ne w in M e r idian G lo bal C o llabo r at io n F r am e w o r k 2012
The following features were added:
Path transformations may now include property names in the local vault
(OutgoingPathTransformation only) and briefcase property names
(IncomingPathTransformation only).
Renaming of hybrid parts is now supported.
Changes to a different document type are now replicated.
The following features were changed in GCF-SharePoint:
This release supports SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2010 SP1 only.
SharePoint calculated columns are now replicated.
The following issues were resolved:
Revoked workflows are now handled correctly.
The Get and Distribute Now commands did not always replicate document content. Replication now occurs always.
After selecting the folder option to synchronize roles, nothing happened until the roles were modified.
Situations where metadata cannot be loaded due to access denial are now handled better.
It is no longer necessary to specify passwords with leading underscores as suggested as a workaround in the knowledge base article BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework 2011
SP1 hotfixes and important notes.
Other fixes as reported in the knowledge base article BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration
Framework 2011 SP1 hotfixes 2.

5 W hat ’s ne w in M e r idian G lo bal C o llabo r at io n F r am e w o r k 2012 R R
The following features were added:
A new transfer processor has been added so that completed briefcases can be transferred while
new briefcases are being created simultaneously.
The BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide and BlueCielo
Meridian Global Collaboration Framework User's Guide were updated.
The Transfer Ownership command has been added to the document selection shortcut menu.
A new Export section is supported in vault configuration files. The new settings
ExportRenditions and ExportRenditionRedlines can be set to True to synchronize renditions with collaborating vaults.
The following features were removed:
SharePoint Locations Manager
Site groups support
Star topology support
Lookup list and table entry replication as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration
Framework 2011 SP1 Administrator's Guide.
The following issues were resolved:
The GCFHideCollaborationStatus function did not hide the Collaboration Status property
page, but only hid the controls on the page.
When used with master documents and project copies, the GCF required registration of the
GcfFolder extension or errors would result. The extension is no longer required, but optional.
GCF 2011 SP1 did not enlist sites upon the creation of documents when the AutoEnlistAllSites
setting was set to True.
If custom code was added to the VBScript function BrcEvent_BeforeCreate, the GCF did not
handle the event properly and did not allow skipping the custom code for GCF-specific operations.
The GCF sent an unsupported remote command when replicating role assignments.
Ownership transfers in cross-site workflow operations would fail if the GCF tables were stored in
SQL Server Compact Edition. Reference updates were also sent repeatedly.
Note Passwords entered in the new .NET GCFConfiguration extension might not be correctly decrypted by GCF processors built with Visual Basic 6. As a result, the GCF import processor cannot make a
remote call to clear the InTransit flag, which will result in the error Access denied.
There are two possible workarounds:
6
BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework 2012 SP2 Release Notes | BlueCielo ECM Solutions
1. Use simple password that contain only letters.
2. Do not encrypt the password. To prevent encryption, enter the password with a leading underscore "_". For example, if the password is GCF12345, enter it as _GCF12345. The password
will be stored in the GCF tables as clear text.
Note No changes were made to the GCF/SharePoint module except for updating the BlueCielo Meridian
GCF/SharePoint Administrator's Guide.
The following file names were changed:
script2010NET.bas to MainScript.bas
Script2010.bas to MainScript_WithEvents.bas
Server2Server2010.bas to Server2Server.bas
Script2010SharePoint.bas to WebPortalScript.bas
AMBrc_SharePoint.ini removed

6 W hat ’s ne w in M e r idian G lo bal C o llabo r at io n F r am e w o r k 2011 S P1
The following features were added:
Several bugs were resolved, including some related to 64-bit servers.
A new VBScript function InitiateTransferOwnershipOnWorkFlow has been added to
replace the GetGCFSiteByPerson function.
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is now supported.
Corrections have been made to the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework
Administrator's Guide.
This service pack is mandatory for existing installations of Global Collaboration Framework 2011.
Note
If the GCF processors are installed on the same computer with the Meridian Enterprise 64-bit edition server components, the Meridian Web Client must be also be installed on the computer from a 32-bit edition setup program.
Folder property replication is only supported by Meridian Enterprise 2011 and higher when using
custom briefcase formats. For more information about custom briefcase formats, see the
BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide .

7 W hat ’s ne w in M e r idian G lo bal C o llabo r at io n F r am e w o r k 2011
The following features were added:
Collaborating vaults may now be enlisted for folders. Folder properties, security role assignments,
and managed change (and Meridian Advanced Project Workflow Module) operations are replicated to the enlisted vaults with certain limitations. Folder property replication is only supported
by Meridian Enterprise 2011 and higher when using custom briefcase formats.
Different Field-Path definitions in collaborating vaults can be supported using path transformation
formulas. Path transformation is supported only when the Global Collaboration Framework is used
with Meridian Enterprise 2011 and higher.
Security roles that are applied to replicated folders in vaults that reside in separate domains can be
mapped in the vault configuration files.
Many changes were made to the Global Collaboration Framework custom document properties
and some custom folder properties have been added.
For more information, see the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework Administrator's Guide
and the BlueCielo Meridian Global Collaboration Framework User's Guide.

Following are known problems in this release of Global Collaboration Framework:
Global Collaboration Framework
Meridian Enterprise scopes are not supported at this time and will produce the error Cannot
initialize XML session. Parameter is incorrect. The workaround is to create a dedicated
scope for GCF in the vault and then to specify the scope name in the Scope value of the Web
Access location that is used with GCF. The value can be found in the subkey that corresponds to
the location in the following Meridian Enterprise server registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\WebLink\P
ublished Locations
GCF/SharePoint
SharePoint folders are not supported.
The error The content type is not a valid content type for this document library will
occur during document import to SharePoint if a content type is not available to which the document type has been mapped. The documents will not be imported.
The error The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT:
0x80070002) will occur if a new document was created in a SharePoint library and the user
clicked the Yes button when prompted with the message Require documents to be checked
out before they can be edited? and the document is not checked in. The GCF export processor will not find the document because the processor is running under a different account and
export of the document will fail.
Meridian Enterprise hybrid documents are not supported.
GCF/Project Portal
Renaming a document in Meridian Enterprise is not supported correctly. If you rename a document, a new content file will be attached to the Project Portal document with the new name. You
must manually remove the old attached file.
