Take machine translation to the next level with Studio 2017. Avoid

engines, powered by SDL Language Cloud. These engines self-learn
from your post-edits from job to job so that MT output is unique to
your style, content and terminology. Now you can trust your own
MT engine to give you valuable MT output personal to you, so you

Smarter translation memory
Your TMs are your greatest assets and getting the
maximum possible from them matters. Studio 2017’s
transformative new upLIFT Fragment Recall technology
will automatically give you high-quality fragment
matches so that you can translate new segments faster,
even if you don’t have a full TM match. Enjoy simpler
TM leverage, save time and effort and be confident that
you’re getting high-quality or in-built matches in both
fuzzy and no match scenarios.

The details that make a difference
AutoSuggest for Asian languages
Now with Studio 2017 AutoSuggest has been enhanced
to support Chinese, Korean and Japanese. You can now
create AutoSuggest dictionaries with these languages
and enjoy better-than-ever productivity gains by typing
less and translating more.
Easier document navigation
Navigate through your documents even more easily with
custom display filters in Studio 2017. You can now apply
multiple filters and save your custom filters for future use
so you can easily focus on what you need to.
Merge segments over hard returns
Studio 2017 allows you to merge segments even over
hard returns so you can ensure the high quality of your
translation units and optimize your translation process.
Repair fuzzy matches
With increasingly short deadlines, being able to do as
much as possible in as little time is important. Reduce
translation time and cost with upLIFT Fuzzy Repair
which cleverly uses your trusted resources to repair fuzzy
matches so you save even more time when editing and
get the best possible fuzzy match.
Powerful innovation, made simpler
Refined user experience
We continue to focus on making Studio easier to use and
with Studio 2017 you can quickly get started by dragging
and dropping files to create a new project. Project setup
is further enhanced with ‘Recently used languages’, or
the possibility of reversing the language direction, saving
you time when setting your language pairs. You can even
get started with a simple right click in Windows Explorer
and enjoy working with Studio on high DPI 4K screens,
providing an all-round improved user experience.
Better file type support
Studio 2017 brings an even further enhanced Microsoft
Word filter for better handling of Word files, including
word-processing flavours such as Google Docs. In
addition, we’ve included support for XLIFF 2.0 as well
as 1.2, so you can work on files that have been created
using the latest version of the XLIFF standard. If you need
to preview a custom file filter, you can also now do this
directly from the File Types window – a major time saver
when preparing and testing custom or in-built file types.

A full and integrated Studio platform
Terminology management at its best
SDL’s terminology solution, SDL MultiTerm, is now even
more tightly integrated into Studio, enabling translators
to quickly create new termbases, add new terms and
edit their termbases directly from the Studio editing
environment. MultiTerm 2017 brings you a new default
editing layout so you can easily make and undo changes.
It’s easier than ever to keep your terminology consistent
and up-to-date with the new batch editing capability, so
you can perform global changes easily across your whole
termbase or just specific fields.
With support for all languages brought to you by
Windows 8.1/10, more automation and a number of other
enhancements you can count on an even swifter, more
reliable terminology management experience.
