Make a Carton Pirate Ship
What you need
• 2 milk cartons (2 rectangular foam blocks can also be used)
• 2 straws
• Blu-tack
• Glue
• Scissors
• Tape
• Cardboard
• Felt pens
• Coloured paper and black paper
What to do
1. Lay one empty, rinsed milk carton down and cover in black paper.
2. Place two pieces of blu-tack in the centre of the hull.
3. Cut the second carton in half and, using the bottom half of the carton, cover with a different
coloured piece of paper.
4. Make two small slits or holes for the two straws to go through at the bottom of the carton.
5. Place the covered half-carton on top of the hull (open side down), lining up the two slits or holes above the two pieces of blu-tack.
6. Place the two straws in the two slits or holes to form the masts and anchor to the hull by pushing the straws into the blu-tack.
7. Cut two big and two small rectangles from coloured paper to form sails.
8. Make two small holes in each sail with scissors and slightly fold the sails (big at the bottom and small at the top) and thread onto each of the straw-masts.
9. Use cardboard, paper and felt pens to make a skull and crossbones flag for the ship, and a gangplank!
