H E R E A S we T o u r M a j e s t y ' s m o s t dutiful a n d loyal subjects
t h e M e m b e r s of t h e Legislative Assembly of N e w S o u t h W a l e s
i n P a r l i a m e n t assembled h a v e resolved t o g r a n t t o Y o u r M a j e s t y t h e
s u m of N i n e h u n d r e d a n d forty-six t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d a n d sixtysix p o u n d s t h a t is to say—•
T h e s u m of F i v e h u n d r e d a n d t e n t h o u s a n d p o u n d s b e i n g t h e
s u m r e q u i r e d t o defray t h e e x p e n s e s of t h e various D e p a r t ­
m e n t s a n d Services of t h e Colony for t h e m o n t h of A u g u s t
or following m o n t h of t h e y e a r one t h o u s a n d e i g h t h u n d r e d
a n d eighty-six

T h e s u m of F o u r h u n d r e d a n d t h i r t y - s i x t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d

A n d w h e r e a s w e desire to m a k e good o u t of t h e Consolidated R e v e n u e
F u n d of N e w S o u t h W a l e s t h e s u m so g r a n t e d to H e r Majesty B e it
therefore e n a c t e d b y t h e Q u e e n ' s M o s t E x c e l l e n t M a j e s t y b y a n d w i t h
t h e advice a n d c o n s e n t of t h e Legislative Council a n d Legislative
A s s e m b l y of N e w S o u t h W a l e s i n P a r l i a m e n t assembled a n d b y t h e
a u t h o r i t y of t h e same as follows:—
1. O u t of t h e Consolidated R e v e n u e F u n d of N e w S o u t h W a l e s
t h e r e shall a n d m a y be issued a n d applied for or t o w a r d s m a k i n g good
t h e s u p p l y so resolved t o be g r a n t e d to H e r M a j e s t y for t h e said several
Services t h e s u m of N i n e h u n d r e d a n d forty-six t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d
a n d sixty-six p o u n d s of w h i c h t h e s u m of F i v e h u n d r e d a n d t e n
t h o u s a n d p o u n d s is t o b e e x p e n d e d a t t h e r a t e s w h i c h h a v e b e e n
sanctioned for t h e year one t h o u s a n d e i g h t h u n d r e d a n d eighty-five
inclusive of t h e a n n u a l increases on salaries for t h a t y e a r p r o v i d e d
for b y t h e " Civil Service A c t of 1 8 8 4 " subject to t h e r a t e of a n y
r e d u c t i o n t h a t m a y hereafter be m a d e in t h e e x p e n d i t u r e of t h e y e a r
one t h o u s a n d e i g h t h u n d r e d a n d e i g h t y - s i x a n d F o u r h u n d r e d a n d
t h i r t y - s i x t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d a n d sixty-six p o u n d s for t h e Services
specified in t h e S c h e d u l e h e r e t o a n n e x e d .
2. T h e T r e a s u r e r shall issue a n d p a y t h e said s u m for t h e
Services aforesaid i n s u c h m a n n e r a n d in s u c h proportions as t h e
G o v e r n o r b y W a r r a n t s or Orders i n w r i t i n g u n d e r his h a n d a n d
directed to t h e said T r e a s u r e r shall f r o m t i m e to t i m e order a n d direct
A n d t h e p a y m e n t s so to be m a d e shall be c h a r g e d u p o n a n d p a y a b l e
o u t of t h e Consolidated R e v e n u e F u n d of t h e Colony.
3. T h e T r e a s u r e r shall i n his a c c o u n t s from t i m e to t i m e be
allowed credit for all s u m s of m o n e y paid b y h i m i n p u r s u a n c e of s u c h
W a r r a n t s or Orders A n d t h e receipts of t h e respective persons t o
w h o m t h e s a m e shall be so p a i d shall b e full a n d valid discharges t o
t h e said T r e a s u r e r i n p a s s i n g his said a c c o u n t s for such s u m s as shall
be t h e r e i n m e n t i o n e d a n d h e shall receive credit for t h e same
accordingly.
