This surface conditioner and primer changes rust
into a dark protective polymer coating. It
chemically converts existing rust into a inert
coating that seals out moisture to prevent future
rusting. The black polymer coating withstands
exposure to weather, sun, water, and salt spray
without peeling or cracking - even without
painting!
Kayline Rust Converter is an
excellent primer for any type of paint. Protect
iron and steel surfaces quickly and easily with
chemical rust conversion.
Within minutes of application, the old red
rust will start to darken as it is chemically
changed. When completed, the entire surface
will have a smooth, even brown coating.
FORMULATION
Water based solution containing penetrant
agents, reactive rust converter, and polymeric
barrier coating. Ready-to-use solution is nonflammable, and contains no lead or phosphoric
acid.
HIGHLIGHTS
This revolutionary new product chemically
neutralizes rust! After proper treatment with
KAYLINE RUST CONVERTER, existing rust
is transformed into an inert barrier coating that
protects against further corrosion and oxidation
of iron steel surfaces. This product actually uses
the converted rust to form a barrier coating - no
need to scrape or sandblast off the existing rust.
It does so much more than ordinary acid
surface treatments. While other treatments can
only prepare a clean surface for priming - new
KAYLINE RUST CONVERTER transforms a
rusty, scaly surface into a smooth, inert,
paintable surface all in one easy step.
This advanced formula deposits a durable
polymeric barrier coating that resists rain,
sun, salt, and chemicals. It is so effective
that painting over is not even required. For
jobs that require painting, KAYLINE RUST
CONVERTER is an excellent base coat - no
need for any other primer. The water based
formula is easy and safe to work with,
requires no special application equipment,
and cleans up easily with water.
APPLICATION
KAYLINE RUST CONVERTER does not
require lengthy surface preparation.
Simply remove all large or loose particles
with a hammer or wire brush, and clean
off any grease, dirt and salt. Apply
KAYLINE RUST CONVERTER with a
brush, roller, sprayer or by dipping. Use
water for thinning and for clean up.
KAYLINE RUST CONVERTER dries to
a tack-free finish in 15 to 20 minutes. For
optimum performance, a second coat is
recommended. Allow 24 hours between
coats. Coverage is 500 square feet per
gallon.
