Producing the Jazz Festival involves months of office work followed by over a month working on-site before, during and after the event. All
applicants should have the ability to work at a rapid pace in a high pressure, production setting, with a positive “do whatever it takes” attitude. Some
light lifting and stamina for long production days is required. All applicants must sign a criminal history release form.
Electrician – Site Department
Early April – Mid May, 2014
Assist in installation, maintenance, removal and storage of electrical inventory/equipment. Insure that
all electrical work is performed in accordance with the National Electric Code. Assist in AMP readings.
Be on standby during event. Certified Electrician Skills required, as is experience with temporary
electrical distribution for special events. Heavy lifting is required. Must have endurance for working long
hours in an active, stressful production setting with the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
conditions.
Fair Runner – Fair Administration Dept.
April 4-May 8, 2014 (Full Time)
Act as off/on-site runner for Fair Production Departments. Delivery and pick-up of items throughout the
Greater New Orleans Metro area. Must possess valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record. Must
be able to lift 75 lbs. Knowledge of Greater New Orleans Metro area required. Must be able to work
under adverse and stressful conditions.
Signs and Décor Lead Artist – Sign & Décor Department
April 4 – May 9, 2014 (Full Time)
Working with supervisor’s designs to create new backdrops, sound tower scrims and stage valences.
Create and recreate designs in a timely manner. Oversee and facilitate the completion of new or repainted artwork. Experience and expertise in color matching preferred. Must have good
communication skills, while having the ability to handle stress in a high-pressure production setting.
Endurance for long hours in an active and stressful position. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and working
in all weather conditions.
Credentials Assistant - Fair Operations Department
April 7 – May 8, 2014 (Full Time)
Under the Direction of the Fair Operations Director, assist the Credentials Coordinator with the

other large events with credential operations required. Assist in the data entry, making and distribution
of packets which include credentials needed by every staff person. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and File Maker Pro. Must be
detail oriented and possess supervisory skills. Ability to set realistic goals and meet deadlines required.

General Art Installer – Signs & Décor Department
Early April – Mid May, 2014
Install signs and décor pre-Festival and disassemble Festival signs and décor after the event. Must be
skilled in the use of hand and small power tools and be able to work with both hands while elevated on
a ladder, scissor lift or scaffold. Must be a team player who works well with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work long hours in an active, high stress, outdoor production setting. Some heavy lifting
required.
Cultural Exchange Pavilion Store Inventory Manager
April 1- May 8, 2014 (Full Time)
The Cultural Exchange Inventory Manager is responsible for the distribution and tracking of merchandise
the store inside of the Brazil Pavilion. This position will directly oversee the tent set-up and break down in
addition to supervising the tent inventory. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Will require some heavy
lifting. Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work long hours in an active and stressful production
setting in all weather conditions are required. Knowledge of Brazilian culture and customs is preferred.
Food Event Office Assistant – Food Department
April 14 – May 8, 2014 (Full Time)
Works in conjunction with the Food Director by assisting with the overall administration, clerical,
computer and organizational aspects of the Food Department operation. Must have experience in MS
Word, Excel and Access. Strong typing skills and the ability to work in a team is required. Knowledge of
Louisiana foods and an educated palate is helpful. The ability to traverse the field and some light lifting
is required. Must be able to handle stress in a high-pressure production setting.
Event Parker – Fair Operations Department
April 19 – May 4, 2014
Direct and coordinate day to day parking of all vehicles and traffic flow in and around assigned area.
Assist in loading of Taxi-cabs during event days. Must be able to stand for up to 14 hours in all weather.
Strong interpersonal skills required. In order to be considered, applicants must bring a background
check from NOPD Records & Identification Division, located at 715 South Broad Ave. You need to bring

Provide assistance to the Crafts Manager in all aspects to ensure that operations in the Contemporary
Crafts area are running smoothly. Special event experience and knowledge of fine arts and crafts is
helpful. Must have a valid driver’s license. Some light to heavy lifting may be required. Must be
comfortable using light tools, screw gun, staple gun as well as construction materials such as wire-ties for
sign installation. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required. Must have the ability to
work long hours in an outdoor production setting.
Kids Event Assistant - Kids Department
April 24 - May 5, 2014 (Event Days, plus 1 pre or post day)
Implement children’s activities during the event. Assist with teaching and direction of crafts to children,
as well as supervision of free play activities. Must have a background, strength or interest in: child
education, regional culture and heritage, arts and crafts. Must be flexible, responsible and selfmotivated. Some experience working with children is required. Must have the endurance to work in an
active, stressful production setting and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Musician’s Entrance Parking Lot Liaison – Music Production Department
April 25 – May 4, 2014 (Event Days Only)
Greet musicians at the gate, and check to make sure they have the correct passes. While riding a
bicycle, assist musicians in finding a parking space in the music parking lot. Strong interpersonal skills,
and the ability to work long hours in an active and stressful production setting in all weather conditions
are required.
Catering Crew- Music Production Department
April 25 – May 4, 2014 (Event Days Only)
Deliver food and ice chests to dressing rooms at all stages for band catering. Assist with preparation of
ice chests, towels, and food needs for each band. Must be professional, even- tempered, not easily
flustered, and not star struck. No autographs or picture taking are allowed. Stamina, ability to lift 40 lbs
and a willingness to work as part of a team are an absolute must. Possess strong interpersonal skills, and
the ability to work long hours in an active and stressful environment in all weather conditions.
Musician’s Entrance Gate Crew / Music Production Department
April 25 – May 4, 2014 (Event Days Only)
The Mystery St. Gate is the entrance that many production vehicles use. Gate Crew must inspect all
vehicles to enter the gate, to ensure that they have the correct tag, and the correct number of tickets
per vehicle. This position is in the street, among vehicles and pedestrians. Must be able to work in rain
or shine, standing, all day. Must be able to make a strong positive first impression of Jazz Fest, be polite,
courteous, and keep a cool head. Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work long hours in an
active and stressful production setting in all weather conditions are required.
