In addition, students are busily finishing their work for Madison Mart! Madison Mart is our annual culminating activity for the entire school’s study of economics. Students learn about goods and services, advertising, wants and needs, set up “companies”, and ultimately get to go shopping the afternoon of December 18th. Thanks to all our parents that have provided various items and their time to help make this event successful! Your child may have shared they have new seating arrangements at lunch as well as in the gym before school. Teachers pick up students to go to class at 8:15 in the gym. While in the gym, students wait with their class. It is helpful if students bring a book to read. It is my hope students will have a quiet and smooth start to their day, reading or writing eliminates students becoming upset and overly agitated playing or fighting over toys. Plus additional reading practice is great for all (and can be counted on their Reading Logs!). Often at this time of year families take time to “clean out the old”, if you have small trinkets, gently used books, or toys that you would be willing to donate to the school we would love to receive them! As students return to school they often want to bring toys or electronics to school. I ask that you keep items at home (unless it is a specific reward day and the teacher has shared they are okay to be at school). This keeps these treasured items from being broken, lost, or distracting from learning. Sincerely, Mrs. Whitter Attendance Please note, our attendance line has changed. The third and fourth graders have been using an online database provided for free by the Kansas State Library. You can save this link to your favorites and then anytime your child wants to research, they can go here instead of Google: http://www.kslib.info/librarians/eorkids.html The kids have been using the Kid Search database from this link. Instead of getting unreliable or unsafe websites, the database will provide magazine, newspaper, and encyclopedia articles for kids. * * *LITTLE MISS BLAZERETTE ANNOUNCEMENT * * * The dance team is gearing up for their annual Little Miss Clinic this weekend.
