CD ROM, Inc., has introduced a new Professional Flash duplicator that can copy exFAT formatted SD and
other types of memory cards. This is another “first-to-market” product from CD ROM, Inc.
Over our 25+-year history, CD ROM, Inc., has been at the forefront of innovation. Our proprietary Virtual
FAT system was the first to enable real-time access of compressed and encrypted data from CD media.
This new extension of our earlier work solves a technical impasse faced by companies, Government agencies and professionals such as videographers needing to copy memory cards larger then 32GB to optical
discs for evidence retention and back-ups. At this time, our systems can copy SD and memory cards up to
256GB to optical discs ranging in capacity from the smallest 650MB CD-R to the largest 100GB Blu-ray.

As with Mark Twain, reports on the death of optical-disc technology have been greatly exaggerated. While
cloud-based storage and streaming video are the soup du jour, there continues to be a strong market niche
for sensitive data storage on all forms of optical media, especially CD-ROM media. The recently announced
Ultra HD Blu-ray 4K media with up to 3840 x 2150 resolution speaks to the continuing niche market for highquality video and the experience of newer, better, technically superior optical discs versus streaming and
now-old-fashioned regular Blu-ray movies. And, yes, there was a bit of an Irish smile on my face when I
called Blu-ray “old-fashioned.” For those interested in this new technology, please, see Brian Fagioli’s insightful article “Ultra HD Blu-Ray 4K is coming – will consumers care?” on Beta News.com
We recently were awarded the third five-year Evergreen extension to GSA Schedule 70 Contract GS-35F0450J, making CD ROM, Inc., “the only company” ever granted a third extension in our contract officer’s
GSA career. Only July 7, 2015, we received a new GSA Schedule 36 award for “destruction services.” This
new contract, GS-03F-082CA, covers digital data destruction and electronic recycling services of electronic
media for all levels of data sensitivity. We also are currently adding all of our approximately 500 IT products
and 125 destruction services to SEWP 5 through our contract relationship with a SEWP 5 awardee.

The DX-CDm™ is a manually operated disc destruction device. It is the world’s first fully manual device
demonstrated to substantially exceed the NSA specification for residue particle size when removing the information-bearing layer on CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW

Blu-ray technology has led to the creation of high-capacity storage discs that provide up to five times the storage of
standard recordable DVDs. Blu-ray discs use blue laser light with a wavelength of 405nm, shorter than the 650 nm
used by red laser light for DVDs. The shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits, vastly expanding the amount of data that can be stored on a disc. We’ve come a long way since the first 650MB optical discs!
