Pretend Apple Pie Baking
Activity Description: Provide children with materials to
make pretend apple pies
Apple Stand
Activity Description: Setting up a fruit stand.
Age Range: Toddler, Preschoolers and School Agers

Materials: Plastic jars, large tan colored pom poms, large
tan pieces of felt cut into circles, pie tins
Materials: Baskets, play apples, cash register, money,
sacks, signs, aprons, etc…
Interaction/Instruction:
Add large tan pom poms to clear plastic jar. Label jar
“apples”. One may be made into a cinnamon jar. Cut two
round circles from tan felt- one for the bottom pie crust
one for the top. Show children how to make a pie by
putting on felt crust on bottom, adding the large pom
poms for cooked apples, and then putting the other tan
felt on top. Ask questions- How many apples will we
need? What do we need to do first?… etc.
Interaction/Instruction: Make an apple stand. Place
several apples in two or three baskets, children can sort by
size, or color etc. Make signs with pricing of different
apples. Set up cash register with money and bags for the
apple cart seller. Patrons can use play money to by
different apples.
 

Activity Description: Provide children with the
opportunity to play with bears and blocks and discuss
small, medium and large.
Age Range: Toddler, Preschoolers and School Agers
Materials: Bears (Small, Medium and Large) Girl doll
Interaction/Instruction: Tell or read the story of the three
bears. Allow children to play with blocks, bears and dolls.
The may want to build small medium and large size
structures.

Interaction/Instruction: Sing the song: The Bear Went
Over the Mountain. Tell children to build a mountain for
the bear to climb. Talk about the mountain as children
build. Ask child what is the bear going to see when he
climbs your mountain? What can we put on the other side
of the mountain?
 
