camps. All the kids are already looking
forward to next year’s camps.
Castleknock got off to a flying start, kicking over some
excellent points from a long distance, playing with the
wind. Tony kelly played extremely well on the forty.
Naomh Barróg played well against the wind but with
Daragh McNamara and Brian McGinty controlling
midfield, things were never going to be easy for them.
Just before half time, Paul Fitzgerald got on the end
of an excellent move to score the all important goal in
the first half to leave the half time score at
Castleknock 1-6 - Naomh Barróg 0-3.
Naomh Barróg got the first two scores of the second
half and looked to be back in the game until Mike
Stokes scored a cracking goal to put Castleknock
back in the driving seat. From there on Castleknock
controlled the game, kicking some excellent long

CLUB LOTTO
As our Club continues to grow, the daily running
costs are now in excess of €130,000 and we
depend more and more on the income generated
from the Lotto.
As we move into our next stage of development,
this income and, in particular, the number of direct
debit subcribers is vital to secure loans for
development of our new facilities.
We would like to thank all those who are either
direct debit subscribers or contribute on a weekly
basis to the lotto. In particular, we would like to
thank the thirty plus Lotto Team who work tirelessly
in the background to make all of this happen. Keep
up the good work!

Camaint is a ground hurling competition played during the summer
months. It is for Under 11s so our Under 10 team were playing against
physically bigger opponents throughout. Nevertheless they performed
admirably winning 5 matches in the group stage before going under to
Fingallians in the Division 4 semi-final in Erins Isle. The team are already
looking forward to next year’s competition.

AUGUST FOOTBALL BLITZ
This game was definitely a
game of two halves with O’
Tooles winning the first half
and Castleknock winning the
second.
It was a lovely sunny day
which saw our U13 girls get
off to a very slow start and so
allowing the opposition to get
ahead by four points by half
time. Castleknock had played
this O’Toole’s team before the
summer break and won well
but this time O’Tooles took the
U13 girls on well and played
their hearts out.
A few changes were made at
half time and after a chat

with the girls they played with
determination in the second
half scoring 4 goals and 7
points to win the game. Their
performance was excellent
with good team spirit
throughout.
This U13 team recently lost a
match to Scoil Uí Chonaill
which is their only defeat in
the league to date. We look
forward to having another
game against Scoil Uí Chonaill
in the near future.
We are fortunate to have such
a great panel of girls and the
parental support is fantastic.
