"Transference-Focused Psychotherapy for Borderline Personality Disorder: A Clinical

2. An introduction to treatment planning according to level of personality
organization, symptoms, and individual functioning

interpretation, transference analysis, technical neutrality, and the use of
countertransference
4. An overview of treatment processes and outcomes in TFP

Two Day Workshop 9am – 4.30pm
Dynamic Psychotherapy for Higher Level Personality Pathology (DPHP)
Dynamic Psychotherapy for Higher Level Personality Pathology (DPHP) is derived
from Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), adjusted to enhance the treatment
of personality pathology at the healthier end of the continuum of severity. This
includes, for instance, individuals who are experiencing repetitive or chronic
difficulties in interpersonal relationships or occupational functioning, and difficulties
with self esteem and life adjustment challenges, anxiety, and depression. DPHP is an
intensive form of psychotherapy which aims to assist the patient in identifying
underlying conflicts toward improved functioning and ultimately personality change.
Learning Objectives
This workshop will aim to provide:
1. An introduction to the presentations of better functioning but rigid and
functionally impeding dependent, histrionic, and narcissistic, obsessivecompulsive, depressive, hysterical and avoidant personality features
2. An introduction to treatment planning according to level of personality
organization, symptoms, and the individual’s functioning
3. An overview of DPHP treatment processes and outcomes
