Candy Eng is a native New Yorker and grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens. She attended New York
University where she majored in accounting and finance, and started her career as a bank operations
supervisor for Dime Savings Bank. Since then, she has worked in the nonprofit sector for almost 30
years motivated by a desire for service, first as comptroller at Lutheran World Relief – the
international relief and development arm of the national Lutheran Church, then as CFO for Doctors
Without Borders, and finally at United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia. Following
retirement, she was called back to United Board to serve as Interim President where she led a search
for a new President and CFO. Her work has afforded Candy the opportunity to travel extensively to
Africa, Latin America and Asia to monitor grants, conduct internal auditing, and to establish new
offices., overseeing annual budgets of up to $80 million. Candy currently resides in Bayside with her
husband, Vincent, and three beautiful cats.
