China is a land of towering mountains and epic landscapes – background scenery to the fall of
dynasties, the rise of emperors and the turning of the revolutionary wheel.
This spectacular 5-day trek is one not to be missed as we take challenging steps on this stunning
structure, witnessing China’s fascinating culture, intriguing history and beautiful scenery.
Extensive renovation of parts of the wall started in 1957 where it was discovered that the Great Wall is
the only Man made phenomenon visible from outer space!
TRIP OVERVIEW
What dates will the trek take place?
This five-day trek will take place on the 8th
until the 16th of April.
8th – Overnight flight to Beijing from London
9th – Arrive in Beijing
10th – Black Dragon Pool Park
11th – Gubeikou Great Wall
12th – Jinshanling Great Wall
13th – Mutianyu Great Wall
14th – Badaling Great Wall
15th – Free day in Bejing
16th – Depart Bejing
Who will I be trekking with?
You will embark on this adventure with a small group of JA volunteers and an experienced Great Wall
tour guide.
What will I need to carry?
Only what you need for each day. Other luggage will be transported to your next overnight location.

THE TREK
WITH JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
This spectacular 5-day trek will take you along
the Great Wall, the only man-made
phenomenon visible from outer space!
We will walk through the beautiful and diverse
scenery in the Black Dragon Pool Park and
the Gubeikou, Jinshanling, Mutianyu and
Badaling Great Wall. We will trek for
approximately 5 hours each day.
FREE DAY IN BEIJING
To celebrate completion of our trek, we will
enjoy a guided tour of downtown Beijing and
explore the Forbidden City and the Temple of
Heaven. There will also be an opportunity to
visit the local markets and buy your souvenirs.
THE COST
Registration fee: £295
Other Costs (airport taxes & charges): apx.
£385
Option One: Fundraising Target: £2090
Option Two: Self-funding option: £1045
These costs are based on 10 people taking
part. This cost includes your flights from
London to China, accommodation, food and a
guide. The registration fee is an upfront cost.
Final tour costs billed 8 weeks before the trip.
Once the costs of the trip are covered all extra
fundraising will go to support the work of
Junior Achievement.

set yourself a fundraising goal to reach each
month it will make your target much more
manageable.
