Spanish After-School Language Classes

GRADES: This class is being taught on Mondays for Grades K-2 and Tuesdays for Grades 3-5
This year Hollymead is excited to welcome a NEW Spanish teacher and native of Ecuador, Luis Montalvo, to
teach Spanish! Please join us for this fun-filled course that will introduce your child to the Spanish Language
and Culture! Senor Montalvo will engage your students in learning Spanish by integrating music, movement,
games, and activities in an effort to explore the following themes: basic introductions, greetings, colors,
weather, food, family, music, and numbers.
Luis Montalvo lives in Forest Lakes North with his wife and two children aged 7 and 2 ½. Originally, from
Guayaquil, Ecuador, he holds an MA in music pedagogy and worked as a teacher for K-University students in
Ecuador for twelve years before moving to the United States. He is excited to meet your students and share
his passion and love for teaching all things Spanish.
SPANISH CLASS DATES:
Monday Grades K-2: Mondays, 2:40 -3:40 pm: 1/4, 1/11, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/22, 2/29, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21 (There is
no class 1/18, 2/15) Optional make-up date: 3/28.
Tuesday Grades 3-5: Tuesdays, 2:40 to 3:30 pm: 1/5, 1/12, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15 (There is
no class Jan. 19) Optional make-up dates are: 3/22, 3/29 These classes will end before Spring break. If more
than two classes are cancelled due to inclement weather and the optional make-up dates have been used,
then no other classes will be rescheduled.

COST AND PAYMENT INFORMATION:
Session Registration costs $9.00/class for 10 classes. There are discounts for registering more than one child.
One Child $90
Additional Children, same household $80
Payment is collected in full to reserve space and is non-refundable after January 4th. Please make all checks
payable to Hollymead PTO and write your child’s name in the memo line.
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION:
Please return the attached form along with full payment to your child’s teacher or to the front office in an
envelope addressed to Hollymead PTO Language class by Friday, December 18, 2015 to guarantee your child’s
place in class. Late enrollments will be accepted pending availability. Registration is first-come, first-served. If
classes lack participation, classes are subject to change or cancellation.
The first class will be Monday, January 4th for Grades K-2 and Tuesday, Jan. 5th for Grades 3-5.
