Saved by His body and His holy blood, With souls refreshed we give our thanks to God. (Refrain) Let us approach with faithful hearts sincere, And take the pledges of salvation here. Christ Who in this life all the saints defends, Gives all believers life that never ends. (Refrain) With heav'nly bread makes those who hunger whole, Gives living waters to the thirsting soul: Judge of the nations, to Whom all must bow, In this great feast of love is with us now. (Refrain) Opening Hymn 276 - “Come Unto Me, Ye Weary” Hymn: “The Infant Priest Was Holy Born” The Sermon ................................ 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-28 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break,is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; For we all partake of that one blood...... For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you:That the Lord Jesus on the same night He was betrayed took bread; And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,“Take, eat; This is my body which is broken for you; Do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you for the remission of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this break and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup.” A FEAST FOR OUR SOULS 1. The Main Course 2. The Spiritual Nourishment 3. Our Preparations Our Gifts For The Work Of The Lord's Kingdom Our Prayer And The Consecration Of The Elements The Distribution Of The Lord's Supper (Hymn 310 & Below) (Please register on the sheet in the narthex. In keeping with Scriptural directives, we ask that only confirmed members of Berea or another CLC church come forward to receive the Sacrament. Any seeking a church home or having questions are encouraged to speak with the Pastor.) 1. Jesus comes today with healing, Knocking at my door, appealing, Off''ring pardon, grace and peace. He Himself makes preparation, And I hear His invitation: “Come and taste the blessed feast.” 2. Christ Himself, the Priest presiding, Yet in bread and wine abiding In this holy Sacrament, Gives the Bread of life, once broken, And the cup, the precious token of His sacred covenant. 3. Under bread and wine, though lowly, I receive the Savior holy, Blood and body, giv'n for me, Very Lamb of God from heaven, Who to bitter death was given, hung upon the cursed tree. 4. God descends with heav'nly power, Gives Himself to me this hour In this ordinary sign. On my tongue His pledge receiving, I accept His grace, believing, Hung upon the cursed tree. 5. Let me praise God's boundless favor, Whose own feast of love I savor, Bidden by His gracious call. Wedding garments He provides me, With a robe of white He hides me, Fits me for the royal hall. 6. Now have I found consolation, Comfort in my tribulation, Balm to heal the troubled soul. God, my shield from ev'ry terror, Cleanses me from sin and error, Makes my wounded spirit whole.
