The Title of the Report Goes Here in Title Case
The entire report is double-spaced including quotes when you use MLA Style for Research Reports.
All margins are set for 1 inch (Jaderstrom and Kruk 141).
No title page is used in this format. The writer’s name, teacher’s name, course title, and date are
included on the first page beginning one inch from the top at the left margin.
The writer’s last name and page number are keyed in a header at the right margin.
Long quotations follow different rules for MLA Style. In Century 21 Keyboarding and Information
Processing, Robinson gives more information:
Quoted text of more than four lines is set off from the rest of the text by indenting the
text 1” from the left margin. It is double-spaced and no quotation marks are used and no
paragraph indention is needed when quoting a single paragraph from the same source.
When quoting more than one paragraph, indent each paragraph an additional 0.25” (three
spaces). The reference is placed after the quotation (Fowler and Hawkes 2).
