CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Turtle Eggs:
Level 5:
Parent-child class. Typically ages 3-5. Introduction to
water skills in a slow, comfortable, fun environment for
a student who is uncomfortable in the water. A
caregiver must be prepared to get wet with the child for
every class.
Pre-Requisite: The student must be able to swim front
crawl and elementary backstroke for 25 yards per
stroke to the level 4 standards as well as the
breaststroke and back crawl for 15 yards per stroke also
to the level 4 standards. The student must be able to
tread water for 2 minutes. Ages 6 and over. Goggles
recommended.
Level 1:
Introduction to water skills in a slow, comfortable, fun
environment for a student who is uncomfortable in the
water. The student must be ready to learn without a
caregiver in the water. Ages 3 and over.
Level 2:
Pre-Requisite: The student must be able to do 3 bobs in
a row, with their whole head submerged for 5 seconds.
The student must be able to do a front and back float,
with support, for 5 seconds. Ages 3 and over.
Level 2.5:
Pre-Requisite: The student must be able to float
unsupported on their front and back for 5 seconds. The
student must be able to demonstrate swimming on
their front and back with any combination of arms, legs,
and breathing, without support, for 15 ft. The student
must be able to tread water, with support, for 15
seconds. Ages 4 and over.
Level 3:
Pre-Requisite: The student must be able to swim on
their front and back, with any combination of arms,
legs, and breathing, without support, for 25 ft. The
student must be able to tread water for 15 seconds.
Ages 5 and over. Goggles recommended.
Level 4:
Pre-Requisite: The student must be able to swim front
crawl with rotary breathing and elementary backstroke
for 15 yards per stroke to the level 3 standard. The
student must be able to tread water for 30 seconds.
Ages 5 and over. Goggles recommended.
Adult:
Entry level class for those looking to learn the basics of
swimming and body control in the water. Skills include
learning how to float, glide, and propel oneself through
the water. Will work on confidence in deeper water
with floating and treading.
Beginner Diving:
Pre-requisite: Must be able to go off the diving board
head first
Students will be instructed in the proper approach,
execution, and entry of basic dives starting with the
Front and Back Dives. Students may then progress onto
more difficult, Inward Dives, Somersaults, and Twists.
Ages 6 and over.
Intermediate Diving:
Pre-requisite: Must be able to go off the diving board
head first and have passed the Beginner diving level.
Students will be instructed in the proper approach,
execution, and entry of more difficult, Inward Dives,
Somersaults, and Twists. Ages 6 and over.
Private Lessons:
More concentrated individual instruction for
participants. Call or email with desire to be added to the
waitlist. The next available instructor will contact you
with times available.
