The making of a modern world
Our democratic rights
This course charts the importance of the Industrial
Revolution as a lead up to the Great War – World
War One. The experiences of living during the
Industrial Revolution, and the short and long-term
impacts of the period. The course then charts the
causes of World War one and its impact on
Australia as a nation.

This unit investigates the role of political parties and the
independents. How do media and campaigns affect
citizens? How is social media affecting our opinions?
The course also investigates the key features of
Australia’s court system and the types of cases heard.
The Lindy Chamberlain case is our case study for the
students to explore.

Geographies of Interconnections
ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS:
Australia and The Global Economy.
This unit investigates the distribution and characteristics
of biomes as regions. It will research the challenges to food
security and global food production. The second unit dis
uses how people are connected to different places. The
connections that exist through transport and
communication technology. The way people trade and
travel with the future implications on these places.

The unit focuses on the key participants in the
Australian economy. Australia’s links with other
economies through trade and tourism. Why global
economies are now reliant upon one another. The
emphasis is then on Investments, innovation, scams and
identity theft. Finally we explore the way people work in
a changing world.
