The cross was made between the female parent, an unpatented seedling coded cv. 09-1202, and pollen from an unknown male parent. In November 2010, a single plant was selected based on growth habit, branching characteristics, plant vigour, floriforousness and flower size in Moshav Mishmar Hashiva, Israel. In December 2010, ‘DANOV780’ was first asexually reproduced by vegetative cuttings in Moshav Mishmar Hashiva, Israel. Tests and Trials: The comparative trial for ‘DANOVA780’ was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 13, 2015. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on May 20, 2015. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
